As many other reviewers have noted there is nothing to hold the sim card in place within the adapter so it falls out freely. The tray to hold the sim card is too shallow and causes the sim to protrude making it very difficult to install in a device. The instructions that come with the card are very clear and tell you that you may have to file down the sim card and/or glue it in place. I bought this so that I didn't have to "rig" up a solution. I recommend anyone looking for a good permanent adapter solution to look elsewhere.
I bought this product to install my nano sim into a micro sim slot. The adapter fits, but DOES NOT HOLD the sim card at all :( as a result it's very frustrating to install, but with enough patience it's possible. I ended up using tweezers to keep the sim card in the adapter bezel as I was installing into my phone, but even then the sim card would still slip out of the bezel as it was going in. It's a terrible design! And BEWARE! If your sim card slips out while you're uninstalling the adapter, the channel of the bezel can easily hook itself onto the gold pins (which press against the bottom side of the card) and will end up breaking them and warping the adapter. That's what happened to me so I would not recommend this product.
Absolutely does what it's supposed to do. We bought our kid an older cell phone -because I don't believe a smart phone is necessary at this age when there are tablets at home and phones are really just for communication. The phone we got is nearly 10 years old (starting basic... Remember having to push 4 several times to just say "hi" over a text?). The sim cards now are all micro and nano and don't fit in older phones so we bought this adapter set. I received an email with instructions on how to use it and troubleshoot prior to the package getting here so I was able to read up and it was really useful. I did end up using the tiniest drop of glue as suggested to keep the nano SIM inside the adapter. When it comes time to upgrade the phone, I have no doubt I'll be able to salvage the sim still. All in all, I'm thrilled to have found a reasonable amd super affordable fix to our problem. Thanks!
This set includes an adapter to use a nano SIM in a phone that requires a micro SIM, one to use a nano SIM in a phone designed for a mini SIM, and one to use a micro SIM in a phone designed for a mini SIM. It also includes a pinhole-ejection tool to release the SIM card tray in the newer smartphones. So no matter how old your GSM phone is, this set will adapt the newest generation of SIM card to the previous two generations' sizes, micro and mini.
I am currently using the adapter in my older phone so I can send back my defective newer device for exchange, so I have my nano SIM working perfectly in my micro SIM-based phone. Without this kit, I would have had to go back to my wireless provider's office to activate a micro SIM and then go back yet again to activate another nano SIM after I get my new device replaced.
If your active phone uses a nano SIM but you want to switch to an older device, this is the kit you need. It will save you the time and trouble of dealing with your wireless provider.
I think the iSYFIX SIM Card Adapter kit is a good set. It worked as expected for me. I tried out all of the adapters and had very little issues. The one issue I had was fitting one of the adapters into an older phone, but that was more the phone's design and little to do with the adapter. The eject pin came in handy so is a nice little bonus.
I bought these adapters because our backup phones use different size SIM cards than the ones we're currently using. My son's phone broke and in order to use one of the backup phones we had to use an adapter. It did the job until we received his new phone. It was quite nice that he would not be out of a means of communication and had a lot of his phone data available on the backup phone while we waited to receive the new phone.
I also used a backup phone while I rooted my current phone. Again, the adapter came in handy and I didn't miss a beat. Once my phone was rooted, I switched everything to it and put the backup phone and these adapters in storage.
These adapters are cheap but very poor quality. None of the sim cards that I tried fit well in these adapters. I've used these with 4 different cards all were the same, they fit loose so the cards fall out all of the time. The adapters that usually come with sim cards fit much better. Plus these adapters are a little thicker then sim cards usually are, too think for some devices. When I attempted to use one of these in an old hotspot it got stuck and damaged the pins in the card slot when I pulled it out with pliers. The hotspot stopped working after a that, I did not care that much, it was a really old hotspot, gave me an excuse to buy a better one. Anyway I would not recommend putting these in a device with a click-in sort of sim slot. Something with a sim tray or the slide in sort of sim slot should be OK. Still I would recommend getting something else.
Galaxy S7 died so needed a way to get my S5 running until it's repaired. Used the nano to micro adapter and it worked great. Was a total PITA trying to hold the sim in from underneath(adapter has plastic on top to increase thickness) while getting it in the slot, so take your time and use a tool if necessary. Not a fault of the product, just dealing with tiny stuff and bad angles. The sim slot tool was all I needed to push the card back into the adapter during installation.
