If you have a SNES classic mini, you'll know how the cables are too short. This is a brilliant wireless remote, a small transmitter plugs into your SNES Mini and worked first time. Also the remote solves one of the biggest annoyance with this console as it allows you to switch games without having to press reset on the console (just hold Select and Down) Most important is that the remote is just as good as the original controllers, d-pad and buttons are well made and accurate. A must buy if you have a classic mini, just a shame Nintendo didn't provide these with the console!!
I ordered the 8Bitdo SF30 controller to use with a SNES Mini Console I had recently bought. One of the major flaws of the SNES Mini Console is the length of the controller wire, which forces you to sit near the console right in front of the TV when playing. The 8Bitdo controller completely fixes this through it's wireless nature,
This controller comes with a receiver that plugs into the controller port on the console and then immediately picks up the signal and auto-syncs with the controller. You can even activate the console when in rest mode by just pushing a button on the controller.
My only complaint with the controller is that whilst it's very close in appearance to a SNES controller, it understandably can't be exact replica. On the front of the gamepad rather than reading Super Nintendo Entertainment System it reads 8Bitdo Gamepad, and the start and select buttons which are diagonal on the original controller are instead horizontal. Having said that the overall look and feel is correct.
Overall though this is an excellent controller and should be considered a must-have for anyone buying a SNES Mini that doesn't want to be tethered to their TV. I'm considering buying a second for multi-player as they are supposed to be compatible.
Only had this controller a week or so but what an excellent item. Paired automatically after I plugged in receiver and hit start. Very responsive. No lag that I can notice anyway. Has given a new lease of life to my SNES mini. Have improved in mario world, doc and super punch out with this controller. Also got the Hori one and the 8bitdo knocks the socks off it.
Only gave 4 stars as only works with the supplied dongle on SNES mini as not Bluetooth. Nevertheless an Excellent product. Would definitely buy 8bitdo products again. It’s better than a SNES original imo.
This is ideal for the SNES classic, works straight out of the box with no setting up just plug in and play, personally I think these are better than the one that comes with the SNES classic (not just because they are wireless) I found that the buttons are less “spongy” and that you could feel the click when pressing them, also because it has a battery the controllers have a nice bit of weight to them.
If you own a NES classic or a SNES classic then this would be a good addition
I love the controller and it has generally worked great but I have concerns on durability. The d pad is now sticking when pressing right and all four of the excellent coloured face buttons are somehow scratched up after not a great deal of use. I love 8bitdo so this was a bit of a let down
5 stars, I had no need to update the firmware, I just plugged the thing in my SNES mini, pressed start on the controller and I was good to go. The rest is just perfection - built quality, responsive, no lag... better than the original controllers, because it is wireless. The only doubt in my mind with this thing is if you want to pair two of these wireless controllers to play co-op or vs. games... I am guessing there will be issues and maybe, just maybe, it is better to play with one wireless and one wired controller. If anyone has a good experience in this scenario I would appreciate the sharing.
Works perfectly on my NES classic. Look and feel identical to the originals (except for the angle of the start/select buttons), no lag, worked straight out of the box, batter lasts for ages. I bought two controllers (one with the multi colour buttons and one with the famicom purple scheme) and no issue of clashing signal.
Nice built quality, pretty close to the original snes controler, perhaps the Bluetooth described is under a dongle no from the actually the controller. That means u need a micro usb cable to play... Also there's a 1 second gap / / lag to respond your movement. Frustration is my final word... I wish i could send it back to the sender
