If you're going to play snes, you really need a snes style controller. It makes such A difference. It's hard to even explain why. But playing snes games with an xbox 360 controller, I would get over it in a few minutes. Playing with this controller, I get sucked in for hours. It just feels right. And it's a gorgeous controller to look at.

Controller reacts fast - no latency to speak of. Turns on and connects fast and reliably. Buttons feel great. And you can add some quality of life features with the extra buttons, like I have fast-forward set on my R2 trigger, so you can zoom through cut scenes or anything tedious.

Very happy with the purchase. Will be buying more 8bitdo for sure!

The SF pro is fantastic for playing old school games from nes all the way through to current generation consoles. The versatility of being able to pair this with a Nintendo switch or your PC is a real benefit too. Combine that with a rechargeable battery, and sturdy build quality reminiscent of first part controllers and you have a great bit of kit here. I've found very minimal if any lag, but hey I'm not on the pro circuit so your mileage may vary. Overall, strongly recommended

A perfect replica of the SNES controller not only for the Nintendo Switch but almost all platforms, including PC, smartphones etc.

The D-Pad on this feels great and accurate for games like Street Fighter and Mega Man, unlike Nintendo's Pro Controller. And with the additional two analog sticks makes this controller useful for games like Smash Bros and Zelda BOTW.

Controller stays true to the classic snes controller without feeling terrible in the hands. All buttons feel great and nostalgic. Has little to no button delay. Having larger hands, I find the Switch Joycons are a touch fiddly and cramp-inducing after a longer session, even detached from the console and fitted to the grip - small buttons and short stick travel do not help. The Nintendo Pro controller is expensive and I was put off by reports on the D-pad being inaccurate in use, so opted for this having fond memories of the SNES joypad from my youth. Happily it has proven to be a good pad, basically identical to the old SNES pad in terms of size, albeit a touch thicker and with the obvious extra analog sticks etc. The D-pad is perfect, the sticks are nicer to use than those of the Joycons, as are the buttons. It also doesn't have issue of the right analog stick getting in the way of the lower face buttons that I experience on the Joycons. Rumble is perfectly adequate although not as good as Joycons (do update the firmware though) - I was able to locate the buried moons in Mario Odyssey without issue, so there is enough subtle variation in intensity for most purposes, although it is a touch loud. Not an issue unless you game in silence or are particularly sensitive to that. Battery life is very good and I have had no issues with bluetooth pairing. I do think the more standard shape and size of the Nintendo Pro controller may be better for long-session comfort based on my experience using a Xbox 360 controller for the last 10 or so years with console then PC, but really the SF30 is not uncomfortable to hold, just not 'modern' ergonomically speaking.

Overall I'm very pleased I went with this option and saved £20 over the Pro controller. The design gives me warm reminiscence for the SNES whenever I pick it up, and it is more comfortable than the Joycons for adult hands. Packaging is neat and so far it has proven reliable.

Pro:
+ build quality is good, feels nice in hands, doesn't "creak" when handled, the built in battery gives it nice weight.
+ Finally a 8BitDo controller with good d-pad!!! Other 8Bitdo pads I've tried have had somewhat crummy dpads, as they have taken up/down inputs when even gently rocking the dpad when pressing left/right.
+ On pc, the pad's Xinput mode makes the pad identify itself as microsoft xbox 360 pad, which makes it work on pretty much anything. Huge plus for that. The mode switching instructions are printed on the back label of the controller.

Neutral:
~ I kinda wish the pad as slightly larger to better fit my hands, but I guess the idea was to pretty much have identical feel to the old snes pad. Maybe make controllers for a bit bigger hands, please? :)
~ The pad could be slightly thicker to better utilize the L1/R1 triggers

Minor Cons:
- The supplied usb-cord is fairly short (about 50cm, I guess), so if user wants to use it wired, they most likely need a longer cable.

All things considered, this is easily one of the better pads I've tried, and so far easily the best 8Bitdo one. Recommended.

Ich persönlich finde das der SNES Controller der absolute Meilenstein war und noch immer ist.
Das Teil liegt perfekt in Hand. Perfektes D-Pad und auch sonst perfekte Haptik.
Für kleine und große Hände gleichermaßen gut geeignet.
Hatte mir dieses Jahr bereits dieses Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad bestellt um auf dem Raspberry zu zocken.
Auch dies ist ein tolles Pad, es fehlten halt nur immer die beiden Sticks und L2+R2

Die Verbindung zur Switch oder zum PC ( MAME ) wird ohne Probleme und umständliche Prozesse sofort hergestellt.
Mit dem Raspberry nimmt man die üblichen Einstellungen vor um das Gamepad zu "registrieren"...
Mit PS3 und 4 klappt es leider nicht.

Die verschiedenen Startmodis stehen auch hinten auf dem Controller.
- A + Start = MacOS Modus (3 LEDs leuchten unten beim Start)
- B + Start = Android Modus (1 LEDs leuchten unten beim Start) > ( Für Raspberry )
- Y + Start = Windows Modus (2 LEDs leuchten unten beim Start) > ( PC )
- X + Start = Nintendo Switch Modus (Die LEDs leuchten abwechselnd beim Start)
Ob der Controller im Windows-Modus auch mit der XBox verbindet, kann ich leider nicht testen da ich keine XBox habe.

Nun ist mein "Traumcontroller" also Realität geworden :)
Ganz Ehrlich! - Dieses Pad hatte ich schon vor gut 15 Jahren vor Augen... :)

I had this controller for Christmas and it’s fantastic.
Straight out the box, paired it up with my Nintendo Switch, and was off and running in minutes.
Like I’d read on other reviews though, it did have an initial issue. There appeared to be some lag, perhaps milliseconds, but I was missing the boost jumps on mario kart, and also noticed the rumble nearly had the house falling down around me it was that strong.
So took the advice I’d seen and went to the website and downloaded the latest firmware. Think my pad was on 1.03, there were a few in between, but I went straight to 1.23 and boom, perfect. Rumble is now spot on and no lag whatsoever.
Really pleased with my purchase.

I've been using this pad for a few months now on both Android TV and Nintendo Switch. It's a great pad, very high quality with excellent battery life. Motion control works well on the Switch. My only criticism is that the rumble is WAY too loud, it can be very distracting in a game that uses it a lot like Mario Kart, and it cannot be switched off (it ignores the console setting)
