Speeds up booting

Easy to instal. Sata cable and power lead attached and recognised by windows. I did a clean instal of windows 10 from usb, then deleted my old os system disk and set the old drive as the default for all programs etc after I’d ensured the os on the new ssd was up to date. It has speed up the boot time to seconds. It was installed in an older computer that acts as a spare. I’ve had no problems but only just set it up. You can download Acronis true image oem if you register an account with Adata and register the drive. You enter the drive serial no. Into the section in the adata account and it gives you a activation code and you get an email to download the software - must admit I have no use for it. You can also download a ‘toolbox’ set of software to monitor the drive.
All in all a very cheap solution (£23) to speed up a pc. 240Gb is big enough for windows os and still enough space should you want to put other stuff on it. Always best to have another drive where larger amounts of data can be stored.

Wasted a lot of time, got around it though!

Absolute nightmare installing this. Registered product to get freeware cloning software key which doesn't work on the downloaded Acronis Windows 10 software from their website. Tried the 2013 software which refused to load into windows 10 despite compatibility mode. Wasted so much time with this.
Update - used Macrium Reflect software to clone the hard disk and it's genuinely free and which I would recommend! Not like some others which claim are free to use till you hit the clone button then request payment. So don't waste your time like I did on ADATA cloning software. Just download the SSD toolbox. Use Macrium Reflect software instead which works. Uprated to two stars but ADATA need to sort out the cloning software key. Wasn't long ago I installed a Samsung Evo SSD in my desktop computer. Easy install - Samsung SSD in caddy, download and fire up Samsung magician software. Hit the clone button. Job done!

Budget way to upgrade my old PC

My Acer Desktop PC just passed it's 10th birthday according to the manufacturer stamp on the inner panel. This SSD replaced the original 640GB HDD which was doing well, but I needed something to make the machine more reactive. The SSD came very quickly, was well packaged and slotted right in after the data was transferred using EaseUS TODO Back up. Once I switched to the SSD as my primary drive, the desktop was up and running very quickly. Most noticable change is quicker boot time. I would say it has better than halfed it, but I have not done a 1:1 comparison. Programmes load faster, that is for sure and it seems more responsive, when running at full tilt.

I dare say that there are faster drives out there and for sure, there are bigger ones, but for a budget ticket to this decade, this is hard to beat.

In those 2 pictures you have ADATA SU630 480Gb vs WD BLUE 3D NAND 500GB in CrystalDiskMark. I paid £53 for WD, and £46 for ADATA, and the performance is really similar. So I let you to decide which one to buy :D

As per other reviews. This item just works and speeds up my old PC load and response times. Easy setup - just clone existing system drive and reload. This provided enough performance boost to keep my laptop going for at least a year (probably much longer).
