Not the cheapest CPU out there, but it's worth it when you have a weak setup to begin with. My i7-3770 and GTX 1060 6GB was just not really talking and once I upgraded to DDR4 with the Ryzen 5 3600, all my games suddenly worked on Ultra settings at a clean 60fps across the board! Please note, I bought 16GB ram to go with this, your experience may differ.
Despite Amazon being told about the listing issue many times since 2019 they refuse to fix it, be aware the CPU with motherboard is just a motherboard. Amazon for some reason don’t want to make it accurate and are happy to keep the misleading title.
Overpriced, middling board, much better boards at this price point
It does a serviceable job, but could have been better. First, I didn't expect a new board to come in a cardboard box that looked like it had been stepped in. Also, I didn't expect a board sold in October 2019 to still have a BIOS version from June 2019.
Some more issues: 1) IO shield has some fit and finish issues. 2) NVMe SSD (Samsung 970 EVO) not recognized on M.2-1 Slot. It was only recognized once I put it in the M.2-2 Slot, which is only PCIe 2.0 x2. Kinda defeats the purpose of having PCIe 4.0. 3) Corsair Vengeance RAM (rated at 3200 MHz, CL16) could only run at 2666 MHz. 4) The VRM heat sink gets in the way of installing the stock Wraith Prism Cooler.
I know Points 2) and 3) could probably been 'solved' with a BIOS update, but I've had some issues the past few years with boards (1x MSI, 1x AsRock) getting bricked.
Here are some pros: 1) Quite a few RGB headers. 2) Decent temperatures at load (stock).
It's a serviceable x570 board. But maybe wait a bit for the B550 boards that have better value and ironed-out firmware.
I purchased this motherboard for a Ryzen 3600x and a 5700xt Video card. I liked that the board has all the feature I was looking for Such as:
Gen 4 M.2, RGB headers, All metal Caps, 2 Graphics card slots for future use, Support for Fast DDR Ram I overclocked my 3600Mhz cl18 ram to 4000Mhz Cl16, Gen 4 PCI, And ofcourse MSI always backs their products with quick BIOS updates to optimize performance and stability.
Only Item i wish that was better is the "Gaming Plus" rgb Logo is hard to see on the board.
I would strongly recommend this board for a great Stable Gaming experience.
Board bought as a combo . Motherboard , 16 gig of ram AM-4 Rizen CPU Assembly went well. install CPU , install Ram and installed board in new case . Test boot with 500 Gb SSD . Fans all work but no graphics from on board Display port . I tried a HD-5870 GPU using HDMI no graphics again . last try HD-5850 again just fans This crap now sits waiting to go to garbage bin . Extreemley upset about this purchase . been building my own systems since 2000
After a ton of research I settled on buying a msi x570mpg mother board. I bought this mother board mostly because I wanted some options for upgrading in the future be it ram or processors. I used a ryzen x3600 and it all worked right out of the box.
This was my first computer build since 2007 and although the technology has changed a great deal I found this mother board very user friendly.
It came with 1 m.2 heat sink, and 3 m.2 screws ( I've been reading a lot on mo ther boards and apparently that's rare as far as the screws are concerned..
I would buy this mother board again and for the money it's a great value
The motherboard works very well and supports 3rd gen ryzen right out of the box. My only issue is the loudness of the 5H!tty fan attached to it. It sounds like a jet engine at full load. Other than the fan, it's a great piece of kit and i would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a little wooshing from time to time.
