5.0 out of 5 starsEasy to install with great record quality
Reviewed in Australia on 26 June 2019
I was eager to install a dash cam as I almost had an accident when a car dash out in a T junction in front of me. I installed it as soon as I received it.
Quality: -Lightweight -Easy to install -Large lens for low light recording -Clip-on design, easy removal of the camera without detaching the suction cup.
Operation: -The menu is easy to navigate without the need to look up user manual. -Build in timestamp for accident track. -Able to set the Car Plate number watermark on the video, in the event, there are multiple recording SDs from different vehicles. (I have to mask off my number plate for privacy purpose)
The low light recording is good when there are more light sources around, e.g. traffic junction, near the shops, where most of the accidents happen. During the day, almost all dash cam can record clearly as long as the front window is clean. For this reason, the dash cam should be installed behind the area where the windshield wipers can clean.
1.0 out of 5 starsLoop recording, technical support

Loop recording is limited to 1,2 and 5 minutes, need to format the sad card every fortnight, shut down half way trough the recording, Technical department no help at all, not solve the fault, only advice they gave is don't use certain features in the camera, I don't buy again, picture quality is great,
The Apeman dash camera is easy to set up with simple control. The best part about this camera is its price. There are a few notable shortfalls I have noticed since I have used.
1) The picture quality is okay during daytime. Most of the time, I can see the license plates of the car directly in front of me in the footage. Video can really blurred up if there are direct sunlight shining on the plate or on the camera. Night vision is definitely subpar as footage is unlikely to show clear image of license plate. If you do get into a collision the video should still be good enough to see what happened though.
2) Some of the features such as parking guard and motion sensor do not work very well as it is either too sensitive or create interference while driving. I ended up turning everything off after the camera stopped recording because of too many locked footage. Afterword it works really well while driving.
3) Button control is simple yet can be cumbersome at times such as when wanting to delete footage, change settings, or switching mode. Once everything is set up, there should not be much need to dive into the menu.
Overall, this is a good dash cam for its price. Expectation needs to be adjusted to match its price. If you are hoping to get a dash cam with good picture quality, you might be happier if you buy a more expensive model. If you are just looking for a camera with basic function of recording while driving that does not cost a lot, you should be happy with this camera. Going to see how long this camera will last but so far I am happy with it.
The imagequality on this camera is great, however, the battery quality needs to be improved. The camera no longer holds a charge and this leads to the date and time not being correct. Not sure if I just have a bad apple or not.
