5.0 out of 5 starsEasy to install with great record quality
Reviewed in Australia on 26 June 2019
I was eager to install a dash cam as I almost had an accident when a car dash out in a T junction in front of me. I installed it as soon as I received it.
Quality: -Lightweight -Easy to install -Large lens for low light recording -Clip-on design, easy removal of the camera without detaching the suction cup.
Operation: -The menu is easy to navigate without the need to look up user manual. -Build in timestamp for accident track. -Able to set the Car Plate number watermark on the video, in the event, there are multiple recording SDs from different vehicles. (I have to mask off my number plate for privacy purpose)
The low light recording is good when there are more light sources around, e.g. traffic junction, near the shops, where most of the accidents happen. During the day, almost all dash cam can record clearly as long as the front window is clean. For this reason, the dash cam should be installed behind the area where the windshield wipers can clean.
1.0 out of 5 starsLoop recording, technical support
Reviewed in Australia on 14 November 2019
Loop recording is limited to 1,2 and 5 minutes, need to format the sad card every fortnight, shut down half way trough the recording, Technical department no help at all, not solve the fault, only advice they gave is don't use certain features in the camera, I don't buy again, picture quality is great,
Material Quality: The unit is made up of quality materials. It is very light but solid that gives the premium feel. The and cables are also made up of good and flexible cords.
Usage: Very simple and easy. Setting up the program is very straightforward. I didn't even read the manual and I find it easy configuring the dash cam to suit my preferred setup.
Installation: I placed it on top near the passenger side as my port is on that side, the cables are very flexible and perfect size that it fits on the insides and pillars of my car allowing a very neat set up.
Video Quality: Great very comparable to high end dash cam. I had an expensive dash cam that had a slightly better video quality but the price gap between that dash cam and the Apeman dash cam is so outrageous! When transferred in the PC which what all most likely do when an evidence is needed, both video clips is almost identical.
Over all: With the price of this dash cam, it gives more than I paid. It records with a good quality, the angle is wide enough the capture whats important in the road, it has high end feature such as parking mode, motion detect that is seen on more expensive dash cams. To simply put, it does the job without breaking the budget!
The installation is super easy, just plug it in the car. There are two sets of holders, I used the suction one, It holds really tight. The screen is 3", just the right size. It's not too big to block your view, but the shooting angle is wide and the video quality is really high. Especially happy about the night time recording quality, it could identify the front car's plates easily, much better than my blurry old one.
Initially I was having troubke with it, wrote a bad review and since deleted it as help centre sorted me out. Now seems to be doing the job. You really do need premium 10 SD card and format FAT 32 on computer first.
well, first, this price is affordable and cheap for a dash cam, so you can't simply compare this product with other super expensive one. second, i'm not using this to record any v-blog or as a go pro. it is what it is, a dash cam, to record the driving record in case there's something happened in the terrible traffic condition in the bay area. last, it works. it does it job well. sound is clear, the wideangle pretty much catches everything ahead of my car. one thing need to mention is you may need to buy a good sd card for better storage. one drawback i can think of right now is during the nighttime, even though it still works, but day time is better and clearer overall.
This dash cam is small and compact but captures a wideangle. It is easy to set up thanks to the detailed manual and comes with everything needed except the SD card. The picture and video quality are good and depending on which lane you’re driving in you can even see the street name signs. I really like having the other features as well. It’s affordable and for the quality and features, it’s a great value buy.
Youngest daughter wants to start borrowing our car, I thought getting her own Dashcam will make it safer for her and a piece of mind for my self!
This 1080P dash cam comes with everything needed except an SD card. It comes with the suction mount charger and a very well detailed manual which is nice to see. Having a wide-angle is helpful to see the whole road can even see lanes beside us if driving in the middle lane. It has all the good features like motion detection and HDR. The HDR gets the pictures looking natural bright and a balanced image. It also comes with a G-sensor in case any accidents happen. Has the features I wanted in a dashcam.
Apeman support was quick to reply to the question I had about the product and very helpful. The dashcam itself was packaged very adequately with no way it to move around in the box.
My family has dash cams in their vehicles, where I am from if you has a dashcam and in a car accident the person with the best footage and proof of who's at fault will help in investigating.
Will survive the harsh winters and summers in Canada, was glad at how quickly the shipping was and impressed with the quality of this camera. The picture quality once uploaded to my laptop looks clear and bright just make sure to take the plastic off to ensure this. With most dash cams you will have to keep it plugged into a power source to use. It has a good length in the cable so we took the time to hide the cable and now can't even tell cable connected.
It's the perfect size as legally it can't take up too much room or could become a hazard, one thing to note is make sure to get a good memory card class 10 or else it won't work correctly.
Small and packed very well. Mostly hidden behind rearveiw mirror. Video quality was as expected and good enough. Wide-angle lens captured the entire view of of the windshield. Battery is very good and can stay on long enough to review videos and lock them so they won't be overwritten.
Settings menu a bit lacking, and navigation through the settings were not easy to use.
So far the videos are saved in 3 minute segments which can be good or bad.
Overall decent video quality, with little to no issues so far.
It was easy to install, and came with enough cord to run it hidden along the molding out of sight. Suction cup seems pretty strong, hasn't fallen off yet. Picture is pretty clear and nice wideangle field of view. Audio quality is OK - good enough for a dashcam anyways. Can be hidden behind the mirror inconspicuously. I like that the screen can turn off so that it's not always on. Easy to use and set up - menus aren't confusing. Just start the car and the unit turns on and starts recording once there's an SD card inside. Buttons are also easy to navigate. This unit hits all the checkboxes we had in mind for a dashcam at a good price.
We were surprised how many reviews this product had, but figured out why - the manufacturer gives you a gift if you are a satisfied customer and leave a good review - which is a really nice incentive! But even without that incentive - the quality of the product is worth a great review anyways. Highly recommend.
