Now I'm far from being a capture card expert, but I've had no huge problem with this one, but, the software on MacOS is really hard to find and lacks support. There is now download link on their website, I had to find it somewhere else on the web. But the software itself works well enough, even on a M1 Macbook Pro.
I'd say it's not very friendly for new users like me.
Another thing is that the device says it can pass through the signal, yes, but it has to be powered on to do that.
If I had to buy another one, I'd buy this one instead, since it records onto an SD card without the need of a computer :
Super easy to set up and install the AVerMedia RECentral 4 app. Comes with 1 HDMI and USB cable (so you will need another HDMI on hand).
Before, I used the Elgato HD60S (borrowed from a friend to try) and I find that this capture card is a great alternative for half the price. I watched the prices for the elgato capture card and I find it too expensive for casual streaming so, I'm glad that this mini capture card does the same. The AVerMedia capture card is small in size (as said in it's name) and does not take up much space, which I really like since I prefer a clean looking desk.
The quality is great - 60fps for the switch and I can stream for my friends to watch me play games like ACNH, Mario Kart, etc. Only thing is that you cannot tab out of the AVerMedia app or else the stream will go black, but that's about it. 5/5 stars
Después de mas de 8 meses de uso, nunca me ha fallado, incluso cuando la conecto a computadoras sin los requisitos mínimos para usarla, es portátil y de fácil uso, además de que tiene una estética adecuada y fácil de identificar
the good, picture quality is decent, video came out right away for streaming the bad, it took over 2 hours trying to get OBS to finally get audio from it, after about 3 hours of streaming, the picture and audio starts to desync, unfortunately will be returning this
