I purchased this laptop stand for my 17" ASUS laptop that weighs about 3 kg, and had minor concerns that my laptop would weigh too much for this to remain stable. I had no cause for concern.
This stand is incredibly sturdy and feels well made from solid aluminum as described. It is able to comfortably hold my laptop even with use of the laptop's keyboard (adding the weight of my hands) with virtually no flex, and can be put at varying heights. Even pushing down on it as a test I can say this would quite easily work for heavier laptops than mine.
Although not a complaint of the product, adjusting the height can take a bit of effort due to how sturdy it is.
