Easily the best album of 2020. After Hours has ebbs and flows which keep it interesting from start to finish. There are songs I never thought could be this good again. Playing the CD on my car stereo has been a joy. It is a truly stunning and unique album which every music lover should own. Congrats to The Weeknd and everyone involved for creating this masterpiece.

Warum kaufen Menschen in 2020 noch Musik auf CD?

Ich, wie vermutlich viele andere, tue dies, weil ich leidenschaftlicher Sammler bin. Weil bei herzlosen Download- / Streaming-Varianten das haptische fehlt: das Ins-Regal-stellen, das Durchblättern des Booklets... für Detailverliebte auch das studieren der Credits. Wer hat mitgearbeitet am Album, wo wurde es aufgenommen, wer hat Produziert?

Dafür kaufe ich CDs!
Wollte ich nur die Lieder, ginge das ganze auch viel billiger.

Und wer genau wie ich auf diese Dinge Wert legt, wird dieses Album von The Weeknd als herbe Enttäuschung erleben! Nicht nur enthält das Booklet oder das Tray-Inlay keinerlei Credits (ganz zu schweigen von Songtexten) - nein, noch nicht einmal eine Tracklist hat das Album zu bieten. Das Back-Cover glänzt mit Leere: außer dem Barcode und den Copyright-Hinweisen gibt es viel elegantes Schwarz zu sehen. Im Booklet 10 Seiten (ZEHN!!!!) voller......Bilder. Eigentlich ein und das selbe Motiv (von Abel mit blutigem Gesicht und Pflaster auf der Nase) aus verschiedenen Perspektiven. Und die letzte, 11. Seite wurde wieder für reichlich elegantes Schwarz "genutzt".

Alles in Allem ein Schlag ins Gesicht für Sammler!
...und dann wundert sich die Industrie, dass die Leute für Musik kein Geld mehr ausgeben (wollen).

Fazit: Downloaden.
Den 1 Stern gebe ich, weil ich ihn geben muss - und, weil der musikalische Inhalt gut ist.

Great album deffo worth the wait and Thank God it came out when it did. Just what you need at this awful time. A good bit of music to listen to. Plenty of good music is needed to keep us goin. Stay safe people stay at home and put some good music on. Get this album and enjoy.

Love The Weeknd, but the album cover isnt great, also why is there no track listing on the back of the case? I had to recheck images to make sure I hadnt purchased a copy that wasnt legit.
Love some of the songs but disappointed with this album to be honest.

To be honest I'd never heard of the Weeknd but heard the track Blinding Lights in a Mercedes commercial and loved it. This is one of those albums where nearly all the tracks are as good as those that have been released as singles, uplifting, very musical and thought provoking plus showcasing real talent. The only downside is why is the cover so gruesome and how about a track listing on the case?
