A woman working in a male-dominated field.
Organized, strong, and tenacious.
That’s how she has to be to succeed.
He needs no one, has no ties, and his future is an unanswered question mark.
It’s all he knows.
Until the day their lives intersect.
He sees the woman she hides from the world.
She nurtures the part of him he lost long ago.
But they both agree - their connection is temporary.
They are only for now.
Can their stubborn natures allow them to bend and accept that maybe, just maybe, there is more to life than they believed?
That love can heal.
That happiness can exist.
That for now can be forever.

Hunter is the kind of lead I adore. Growly, manly, alpha. He’s also got a side that only Ava sees. He tries to resist her but the need and pull he has for her intense. She’s like the air he needs to survive. Being near her settles something inside him. Something he didn’t know he needed until her.
Avas ballsy, she’s independent and strong. Or is she? She tries to keep the persona so know one worries. But being in a male dominated world with the work she does can be hard. Keeping a smile so one worries can be draining. But Hunter sees more. He sees a side that others don’t. His need to cherish, and look after her is strong.
But when you’ve lived your life not needing anyone it’s going to take love and a whole family to remedy that.
The chemistry is off the charts, the connection between Ava and Hunter is phenomenal. The steam is hot. Like Hot hot. But the story is heartwarming, it leaves you feeling like you’ve accomplished something watching their story unfold. As a reader you cherish reads like this and the authors like Melanie who write them.
It’s a YES from me.
Ava is strong, bold, intelligent, independent, and hardworking. She’s driven and determined, and has a tough exterior, particularly when it comes to her role within the company, but also has a gentle heart and has been wounded in the past.
Hunter is a loner, who is used to relying only on himself. He a wanderer, and a wounded hero who has never quite felt like he belonged, and all his worldly belongings can fit into his truck.
The connection between this pair is undeniable, despite the ghost that haunt them from their past. On the surface they don’t appear to have a lot in common but are inexplicably drawn to each other.
I quite enjoyed this addition to the series and look forward to the next title in the Vested Interest ABC Corp series.
Melanie has yet again given us another page turner. From the moment we meet Hunter, his Lone ranger feels with his dog Cash. His past has left him so closed off, that he doesn’t feel loved. When he comes across fiery Ava, the bomb shell, a force to be reckoned with, she makes him fell everything he thinks he shouldn’t.
With plenty of our favourites appearing, Age of Ava is a perfect addition to this series.
"Something about that man made me feel ... like a schoolgirl, nervous and fluttery. My legs trembled and my hands shook. I felt off-kilter."
Ava Callaghan, the eldest and only daughter amongst five siblings, is a confident, strong woman who never backs down from a fight, she's opinionated, sexy, sassy, a workaholic, and very, very single. She's closed herself off from any form of committed relationship due to past experiences. She has her family, and she is happy having them as her only close relationships. Hunter Owens is a nomad, a man who has spent his life travelling from place to place, it's all he has ever known, his only company and closest friend is his dog, Cash. Hunter is in town to renovate the house he has inherited from his grandfather, once finished he will be on his way again. No place to call home, no family or friends, Hunter is a man who trusts only himself, and that's the way he likes it. What will happen when Ava and Hunter cross paths? How will Hunter, the mans who prefers his solitude, be able to stay away from Ava, the woman who could change everything?
"Having her close was a temptation I found too difficult to resist. The smart mouth of her tempted. Her sexy laughter was an invitation to trouble."
From the moment Ava and Hunter literally bumped into each other, the sparks flew, their chemistry and attraction were undeniable. Even though their backgrounds were completely opposites, the connection between them was instant, and the more time they spent together the stronger that connection grew. The intriguing thing about these two was the fact that they were able to see things about one another that they, themselves, and others, often missed. I loved the way their friendship developed, from two people who continually kept their guard up to a couple who felt freedom together. let's not forget all the sexy, sensual moments they shared, especially their dancing.
"Every minute you're not within my sight. I want you back."
AGE OF AVA was as journey of understanding, trust, and discovery. Beautifully written by Melanie, it is a story that wrapped itself around my heart and tested all my emotions. Melanie never puts a foot wrong with her story, and I cannot wait to see what's next.
A top read for 2021

We’ve caught up a few times with Ava Callaghan throughout her brothers books and know she’s got a good heart and is fierce when it comes to those she loves….. what we didn’t see is that she never expected the kind of love and connection that her siblings have found for herself….. until she ran into Hunter Owens.
This pair a some similarities in their views of relationships but where Hunter was a a loner, having never experienced family life, Ava was so family oriented and the thought of never having that was foreign and unthinkable to her.
Gods, my heart broke for Hunter at times. The life he’d been dragged up in, his belief that he was meant to be alone and that no one had or could love him as so sad. Meeting Ava was a game changer for him, it was kind frustrating that he couldn’t or wouldn’t acknowledge how his life old be if he just believed in both of them.
We had the always fun interactions with the whole family, let’s face it, with a clan that size and as determined as they are (the women especially) to make people see what’s right in front of them, Hunter really never stood a chance!!
Cash, can I just say I adored him!!!!!
Heartfelt, fun, thought provoking with a little heart hurting but uplifting, Age of Ava was a great read from Ms Melanie which I thoroughly recommend reading - but, in my humble opinion, start this great series at the start to fully enjoy your reading experience.
Ava and Hunter's story is mix of romance and intense emotion. Ava had an idiliac up bringing in a loving supportive family. She'd had her twists and turns. Her job is taxing, being a woman in a man's world doesn't make it easier and her romantic life, well her ex was less than supportive, but her family was always there. She's a strong, confident, driven woman, but with a vulnerability most don't see.
Hunter has essentially been on his own since he was 5 when his mum dragged him from his grandparents home even though she didn't really want him. She skewed his whole concept of love. Having been alone his whole life he struggles to connect until he almost knocks Ava on her butt. Their connection is intense and instant but he has no idea what it is or what to do with it. Which leads to a emotionally tumultuous ride for them both.
Melanie gets into your heart with her characters every time. She plays with you emotions as if you were one of her characters, in stories masterfully interwoven with humour and an intriguing narrative. In the background we have all the characters we know and love, being who they are (as they always do).
Every story leaves me wanting, that's a lie they leave me needing more.
Honest review in return for an ARC.
