To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I trust AmazonBasics for everything. They always manage to produce the best products for the best price and quality. When it comes to RJ45 cables, many on the shelf that are in the price range as this one are just garbage, the connector just snaps off after a few uses. But this cable made of the highest quality materials and I am certain it will last long. When it comes to Amazon and the products they offer, you just have to buy without any hesitation and thinking too much, simply because they have the best customer service in the planet.
I needed a longer cat5 cable for a 'temporary' fix and this was cheap enough and seemed to fit the bill.
When it arrived I could tell from the look of it that it had been built as cheaply as possible but when I connected it It worked as per spec so no grumbles on that score.
After about a year of use during which it was barely moved and disconnected/reconnected about a dozen times it packed in - and provided me with the motivation to fix my temporary bodge properly, as I should probably have done in the first place. Which, as well as going to show that the lifetime of a 'temporary' fix can be a lot longer than planned, probably also suggests that it's worth paying just a little extra to get a lot more quality.
Really good basic network leads. Used quite a few from Amazon basics and not had one fail. They also have better connectors than many hi end brands. So barring the basic colour choice if the leads are going to be viable. I would 100% recommend these leads
Only given 4 stars as I have not had much use out of the cable yet. Will alter after it's been in use for a while. Conectors and cable look to be good. Happy so far so would recommend with only a slight reservation regarding durability ect.
Needed a new Ethernet cable as the fiddly bit on one of the plugs on the original router cable broke off (causing me to spend hours trying to determine the cause of our intermittent broadband fault!!). Only wanted a couple of meters, but this seemed to be a good buy, so I got it anyway. In the end, the extra long cable enabled me to tidy all those "bloody boxes with their blinking lights" away on top of the book case, where She Who Can't be Ignored can't see them. So, result all round.
And all for just over a fiver. Maplin, etc - we're laughing at you!
I had a need for a 3-4 meter cable and found that most products on Amazon jumped straight from 2m to 5m. This was the (almost) perfect length, and for a good price as well. I especially like the tag protectors that help with the broken off RJ-45 tags.
