This appears to be a quality camera at a fair price. When I was offered this camera I immediately knew I wanted to put it under my eaves to watch the side yard where the dog likes to play and hide. This turned out to be a great call.
The image is quite tight, and I can count individual blades of grass anywhere in my yard! The autofocus seems a little lackluster, as it seems to always be "hunting".
This isn't so apparent at 1x zoom, but at full 4x zoom it becomes rather noticable. Granted, this is a security camera, so I'm not expecting photograpical quality! But it's something to note.
Installation is a breeze, and the included fasteners are quite adequate for most mounting needs. This camera IS NOT tamper resistant. It isn't marketed as such, but it bears repeating: there's no system for securing the camera in place other than a 1/8th turn "bayonette" style mount.
The PTZ system is quite responsive with a dizzying number of presets. However, this is rendered rather unimpressive by the fact that they have inexplicably omitted any form of auto switching or "patrol" mode. This is even more bizzare because this is a option that is mentioned in the help system.
The web based configuration portal is expansive and in-depth, but is also rather intuitive. The few places I was confused, were quickly cleared up by visiting the built in help system. For an obviously chinese sourced and developed camera, the documentation is actually very clear, and easy to understand, written in english first, not written in chinese then auto-translated to english.
The event detection system is complex and provides many options that can't be found even in more expensive IP cameras. None of these fit my use case, unfortunately, so I am unable to test them.
I am just now starting to build out my video surveillance system, and have not yet invested in an NVR. Maybe some of my frustrations will be relieved when this camera is connected to one.
The image quality is pretty good, see attached image, but the night mode seems to be rather grainy(see other attached image),. not normal "one shot" noise, but the pixels seem the blend together like it is running at a lower resolution or something.
It's still quite sufficient to make recognition efforts easy.
One more gripe: the internal surface of the dome really should be coated with an anti glare coating. I noticed while preparing to take the night shot that when I panned past a light, I could see a pretty clear reflection of the camera internals in the image.
But I digress. For a $150 IP POE PTZ camera, this is a great camera.

About this item
- 4 Megapixel Resolution – With its 1/3″ Progressive Scan CMOS, this camera delivers 4.0 Megapixel resolution 2560 × 1440 @30fps, providing the level of detail needed for facial recognition and license plate identification.
- Pan/Tilt/Zoom 4X 2.8~12mm Lens- The 2.8 - 12 mm fixed lens on this camera offers 57° to 19° (Wide-Tele) and Diagonal field of view: 135° to 39° (Wide-Tele)° field of view to cover and protect a wider area. Great camera but has compatibility issues with Blue Iris
Reviewed in the United States on 4 August 2019
This review is for the Anpviz Security 4.0MP POE IP PTZ Dome Camera. The camera is very well built, it is sturdy and works very well. Just like my other two Anpviz cameras, the picture resolution is clear and sharp. However, unlike my other two cameras, at night this camera's resolution diminishes and at times looks a little grainy. If you are placing the camera in a dark area with little or no lighting, the picture may come out grainy, and zooming in and focusing does not help the night vision much.
The biggest setback I had with this camera was in its compatibility with Blue Iris. I was able to control the camera's movements very well through the web interface, however, if you are using Blue Iris you may run into problems. At first, I had a lot of trouble getting the camera to be recognized in Blue Iris. I finally got Blue Iris to recognize the camera, and I can view and record from Blue Iris, but I cannot control the movement of the camera.
After several emails back and forth to the seller and not getting the camera to work completely in Blue Iris, I decided to contact Blue Iris so they can add this PTZ camera to their program, but even that has been frustratingly slow due to all the back and forth emails with them. Two weeks have passed since I received this camera, and I am still not able to control the camera in Blue Iris.
Another thing I want to point out is the mobile app. My two other Anpviz cameras use the "Danelle" app but this PTZ camera uses a different app (Guarding Vision). So, if you are planning to purchase several models of Anpviz cameras, know that they do not all use the same phone app, which makes it a bit inconvenient if you want to view all the Anpviz cameras in one app. If you are using Blue Iris, one solution is to purchase the Blue Iris phone app to be able to view all cameras in one place. Overall, I am happy with the camera and will look into purchasing more of their cameras.

Well Built, smooth Fast panning, No IR dome reflections
Reviewed in the United States on 27 July 2019Size Name: PTZIP204WX4IR without BracketVerified Purchase
The Anpviz Security 4.0MP POE IP PTZ Dome Camera, from all outside appearances is different than most dome cameras There are no visible IR emitters visible on the camera or in the dome. After dissembling the unit to install a Micro SD card (up to 256gb) I was impressed with the quality of the construction, and also found 3 IR emitters hidden beneath the black band. This gives the edge to this camera not having the IR emitters in the dome were they can cause reflections at night if the dome is dirty or wet. The unit is a breeze to configure and install, it is equipped with a mounting ring that you install, then twist the camera in place much like the mount on a smoke detector. The camera installed great in Blue Iris Software, the only manipulation was the PTZ settings had to be set for Hikvision, after that all worked great. The picture quality both day and night is excellent, I did have to increase the IR output, which is done thru explorer the default setting was around 25% which was a little low for the area I was viewing, after adjusting it to 50% everything looked great, still leaving me with 50% more if I needed to increase it. By far the most impressive item about this camera is the speed and smoothness while moving the lens, other cameras in this price range have a very slow jerky pan and a delayed focus when zooming, it is at almost up to par with my high end high speed cameras that cost 3 to 4 time as much. I definitely would consider buying more.

First off let me say that at this point I have not contacted the seller as I just finished installation of the last camera. I will update this review when I do contact them. Update: I emailed the company over the weekend and it took 8 days for them to get back to me!
The quality and price of this camera were reasons that I decided to buy these cameras for my system. They are a low light camera and gives a pretty good picture at night. The PTZ works well when connected by wifi, I have very slow internet so it does not respond real quickly but using presets it is possible to scan the area.
This camera is an upgrade to my system that came with 2MP bullet cameras. As some of my cameras are mounted fairly high it could be hard to see small things as even when zoomed digitally the video would be pixelated. These cameras have a 4X optical zoom which helps alleviate this issue.
I now have 5 of these cameras installed. I purchase one to try with me 3 year old NVR. First camera worked great, installed right out of the box, it took a little time to get the settings right to make it work with my NVR. This camera has H.265+ compression and my recorded is still on H.264 compression but you are able to change this in the camera setup. This first camera is working fine since installation.
Because of this great experience I ordered four more of these cameras to replace some older less resolute cameras that came with my system. The second camera installed in even less time since I had installed one before. Unfortunately after a little time I noticed this camera will disconnect from the NVR and then after a bit of time it reconnects by itself. This is less than adequate as it is not watching the area all the time. I have checked and rechecked my settings and cabling to make sure I was not overlooking anything.
11/17/20 - I was instructed to upgrade the firmware and my app that I was using. The firmware was the latest as was the app I was using. I checked these things before contacting Anpviz.
The third camera that I installed I had changed my settings before installation to make the install go better. The camera went in good and has a great picture. Unfortunately I noticed that there is some dirt/streaking on the dome of the camera and needs to be cleaned to find out whether the streaks are on the inside or outside. I never opened this camera before installing because I did not need to install a memory card.
Cameras 4 and 5 installed just as easy and the others, but again I see there are streaks in the dome. As all the cameras had the covering on the dome to prevent it getting dirty while installing. The only issue here is that these last two cameras are mounted fairly high up and are going to be an issue to get back up to clean what should be clean because the dome was never removed. I made the assumption that the cameras are clean when leaving the factory because the first two were immaculate and needed no cleaning. The reply from Anpviz was to question whether the dirty lense on one camera was actually light from another source. I replied that this was the dirt I spoke of. I got no response after that.
11/19/20 - I cleaned this camera dome and found most of the dirt on the dome was on the inside, which to me should be clean when assembled like the first two cameras I bought. I am not sure how the dirt got inside the camera.
I have not yet explored all the options of the onboard software. I have not been able to find ways to set pan limits on the NVR that I am using, also the iVMS-4200 app but there is a way in the camera software itself.
If you purchase one of these, or others from the same manufacturer, check the globe for dirt! Maybe connect to a power source and network in a dark room or even a cardboard box so that the ir leds come on as the dirt on the inside will not show until illuminated from the inside.
