This was not exactly what I was looking for, as it doesn't float above the water surface like a traditional pool float. It is filled with 'pool noodles' and will support your weight if you lie flat, but you'll hang 'in' the water, rather than float on it. I wanted something that would allow me to say horizontal, but mostly above water. I could have lived with all that if the inflatable head pillow hadn't split at the seam the first time I used it, rendering the head pillow portion useless. I ended up with a collection of pool noodles held together. Returned, sorry.
We originally purchased 2 of these. We took one out of the packaging and gave it a try and quickly found out that it does not float on the top of the water. It floats but you are still submerged in the water quite a bit. Fine for a pool maybe but not the lake. We returned the unused one and got a refund. Now after 2 full uses, the pillow came completely separate from the rest of the float and I'm trying to figure out how the heck to salvage it. Not super happy with the quality of this float. It would be great for use on the sand if that is what you are looking for.
I love love love this matt, so easy to transport and carry around to beaches. But, sad face, within the 2nd use, the fabric started ripping where the pillow and matt connect. I’m going to try and duct tape it because I love the thing. I’m a smaller girl, 5’3 140 lbs, so I’m not sure why its ripping apart :(
Best pool float I've ever owned. Love that you dont have to inflate it each time you use it. The only part that inflates is the little head pillow whereas the rest is foam (feels like pool noodle material). Comfortably cradles your body while allowing you to be slightly submerged. Long enough to support your entire body even if you're tall. Love how you can take it right from the water to your lounge chair. Worth every penny!
I inflated the air bladders on the two floats I purchased on 02 June 2020. On of the bladders has a defect in the heat seal on the inflator end. It is about 3/8" long, and on inspection it is obvious the machine that made it did not properly seal it. I am still within the 60 day warranty period, and will seek a replacement. For the record, it may be to one's advantage to replace the air bladder with a section of 5-6" pool noodle, which will NEVER need inflating, and is of the same material (Polypropylene) as the individual float sections in the mat area!
The good: It’s easy to inflate, dries pretty quickly, is easy to carry, shipped quickly. The bad: it’s already starting to fall apart after I've only used it twice. There’s a hole where the headrest meets the cushion and the thread on the ties are coming unraveled... I really like the thing, but I doubt I’ll be able to use it again next summer unless I do some pretty serious sewing. I give this product a ‘Meh’ rating.
I have tried it as a beach mat, it works wonders and absorbs bumps and debris under it. I have tried it as a mat to exercise on, it works great. I took it into the lake and as I climbed upon it, it sank with me on it, and then floated to back to the top. I am 210. Product brags 250 can fit on it. Put hub on it, he's 235 and it did the same thing. Next, going to try in this order. 4 year old 30 pounds, works??? then 70 pound 9 year old, works???? then 130 16 year old 6'2, works??? then 40 year old 170, works????then hub again!
I wanted to love this product, I took a right out of the box popped it in our hot tub that we use as a mini pool in the summer and I thought it would be great. However that was just laying on my back floating a little bit. By the next day the inflatable pillow already was leaking and to lay on your stomach is just not very comfortable. The float moves around too much and it’s not stable enough. I was so disappointed!
These floats are really fun because you can use them in many different positions. However only after using them a couple of times the pillows pop holes in the seams and no longer work. We are going to just buy fat pool noodles and stick them in there.
Buy yourself this float! Only the pillow needs to be blown up. The comfort level is a 10! And it's LONG! I'm 5'9" and could stretch out w/ room left over. Easy to get into and lay on. Easy to fall asleep on lol The pillow is just right and so is the feeling of stability under you while floating. Rolls up easily and has a carry strap. THis float is a slam dunk for us. We used it on 4 trips and it still appears brand new! We only used it in a pool.
