This camera doesn't work with some base stations.. After 2 hours of trying without success to sync it, I was lucky enough to find a thread advising I had just wasted my time!!

ARLO's lack of support here in Australia is laughable. They make it impossible to find a number to help troubleshoot. Consistently one of the worst customer experiences you will find. These aren't cheap products but the customer support function is. I then had to post back to the UK and still awaiting refund. Hopefully Amazon resurrects this one for me!

By moving my camera a few feet my camera is now showing a stable 3 bar signal strength. After speaking to my builder, apparently there is metal studwork in the vicinity of where the camera was mounted and this was attributed to blocking some of the signal.

Battery life.
In just under three weeks my camera has dropped 20%. This was with on average one notification a day and me playing around with the settings, so overall not too bad battery life.

Range is very poor. I’ve placed this camera on my conservatory so only 2 patio doors are between this camera and my top of the range router, about 6-8 meters away. I only manage one bar signal on the camera and when I draw my curtains I loose the camera all together, just keeps showing offline on the App. I really had high hopes for this camera as it’s battery operated so no drilling holes for power cables, just really disappointed with the claimed wireless range of the camera. Looks like it’s having to go back and I’ll be taking a look for another Camera.

Ho pagato 384€ x 3 telecamere Arlo Essential Spotlight. Cioè 128€ a telecamera. Confrontata con le Arlo Ultra che ho, e che son costate almeno 300 euro l'una, è un prezzaccio.
Pro:
- principalmente il prezzo, che per essere Arlo è ottimo
- la possibilità di funzionare senza stazione base, e usando qualsiasi wifi (funzionalità che non ho provato)
- rispetto ad altre marche, le Arlo mi son sempre piaciute perché rilevano il movimento quando è vero (con altre che ho provato se accendi una luce o se si muove un rametto col vento, ti parte la notifica di movimento: ingestibile)
- si ricarica con una normale USB
- la lente è incassata, e quindi non si graffierà quando vi cadrà in avanti

Contro:
- NON si toglie la batteria (è forse il difetto più grande). Nella pratica vuol dire che devi avere almeno una telecamera extra, e sostituirai tutta la telecamera anziché la batteria, come invece si fa con le Arlo Ultra
- è fisicamente più lunga delle Arlo Ultra: quindi le custodie in silicone delle Arlo Ultra sono un po' "corte" e rimane fuori un po' di bianco della telecamera (o nero se le hai nere)
- da alimentate le Arlo Ultra possono fare la registrazione continua (24x7), queste no, solo la registrazione su evento, in caso di movimento
- la visione non arriva a 180 gradi, ma onestamente è sufficiente: ha comunque un discreto grandangolo
- le riprese non saranno in 4k ma tanto non lo erano davvero nemmeno quelle delle Arlo Ultra: la differenza, se si nota, è minima
- il corpo è "meno metallico": fa meno presa nel magnete delle basette. che tra l'altro non sono fornite in dotazione. Non disperate: per "fissare" la telecamera in molti casi vi basterà prendere questo "cavo metallico" venduto da terze parti: https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07S7TJWNV

In sintesi: sono telecamere che costano meno della metà delle Arlo Ultra e quando le usi non noti quasi la differenza. Peccato solo per la pila non estraibile. Se si vuole iniziare a provare delle Arlo, consiglio questo pacchetto anziché gli altri modelli in circolazione (Ultra o inferiori).

Purtroppo devo segnalare un bug pesante: in diverse situazioni di luce sufficiente, quando vede del movimento, la telecamera decide di riprendere in modalità "visione notturna". Il bug è su tutte le arlo essential spotlight acquistate, mentre non è presente nelle arlo ultra a parità di condizioni. A questo punto meglio le Pro 3.

The actual battery life is about 2 months if the cameras are armed continuously. Obviously, one should limit the hours or use geofencing, since recharging the cameras involves taking them down. I bought one solar recharger - totally ineffective in a UK winter.
But overall this is an impressive product: I was able to monitor my home systematically from 200 miles away, getting alerts on my phone.

Should be straightforward to install, but we had to run the setup process many times, on several devices, before finally getting it added to our Netgear account. Once set up, though, it's been fine - good image and audio quality, and motion detection seems very good. Having to dismount to charge with USB is a bit of a pain, but it would be the same with batteries. Overall, happy with this camera, but it could be easier to install!
