It is very good to a first approach to the skin care ingredients. I liked that it has at the beginning a brief explanation of the skin problems and the right way to read a label. It is not an exhaustive list of all the ingredients we can find.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good reference book at all.
Reviewed in the United States on 6 March 2021
I have a lot of issues with this “book.”
First off, it is very thin, like a magazine. Second, 43 pages of the 178 pages are just cited references in the back of the book. That leaves very little information for the actual meat of the book. And there are so many ingredients she could have added that are mainstream now. No niacinimide? That’s a HUGELY popular ingredient. It should be there!!! Other ones I felt she absolutely should have mentioned were;
Alpha-Arbutin
Daisy Flower extract
Coneflower
Azelaic Acid
Tranexamic Acid

I could think of so many more!
And most of the book consisted of essential oil ingredients which for me was useless as I am well-versed in essential oils and wanted to learn more about cutting edge ingredients.
So as a newbie aesthetician I wanted a nice, handy reference book but this is not it by any means. It’s pointless to keep so I’ll be sending it back and looking for something thorough.
Nice cover though.
