The mount doesnt grip the vent tight enough can remove it too easily and would probably fall off with a heavy phone easily, Which could make the whole thing quite dangerous in an accident if it came flying off.
Would probably be fine for a smaller phone but the heavy iPhone pro max doesnt seem stable in this mount.
Dont recommend this for a large heavy phone.

Necessity for low positioned cars

Great product from belkin. This vent mounted cradle is good for cars/car seats that are positioned lower and close to the ground - as the dashboard mounted cradles obstruct your view when you drive a sports car.

Only bad thing with the vent mounted cradle is you have to close the air vent, which isn't ideal in summer.

Grips well to Vent - but really hard to put phone on and take off

But putting on phone and taking it off is really difficult - particularly one handed. Usually means removing it from Vent first.
I am used to Gravity brackets - that have easy phone removal.

Have been using the Belkins for years, occasionally tried cheaper ones, but these are simply the best standard vent mount. Worth having IF your car has standard horizontal slat vents. If it has circular ones (eg, audi style), look elsewhere.

I've used this on a 2014 Toyota Auris with an iPhone SE. This vehicle has the usual vents in the middle of the dash but the grill is too weak to hold this unit in place. The phone holder stays in the grill but the weight of it makes the grill point downwards. Instead, I have used this unit on the circular grills found on the far ends of my dash. This works fine and I only use my phone as a reference when using Waze, so this is okay. Other may find this unsuitable.
The unit holds an iPhone SE perfectly with no fears it'll slip out and the cable grip makes a lot tidier!

Good clamp but it messes up my GPS signal

This is a well made air vent clamp that works extremely well, keeping my phone in place without wobbling around the whole time. However, I cannot explain why if I position the holder central to my iPhone X, it kills the GPS and using satnav becomes impossible. The map jumps around the whole time. My son worked out that I need to slide the clamp along to the end of my iphone, so that it doesn't kill the GPS. Still, it holds the phone very well despite being off balance in landscape mode. I would have given this 5 stars if my GPS was affected.

the holding arms that go in the air vent are quite short and wobbly, the springs that hold your phone are not strong enough, I would say that the grip is quite light especially for S20 ultra or 11 pro max, the reason is not one star is the quality of the rubber in the holding arms. While the car drives over the speed-bump the phone slides little by little out of the holder. No return because I can't find the original box. Ugreen the other holder is a lot better in all aspects. Wasted money

Title says it all. I was surprised at how rigid the whole thing is when attached to a vent (in the past I’ve had vent-mounted holders that have been quite loose-fitting and the vents in the car also couldn’t really take the weight without tilting down). This fits well and takes most phones. You can rotate which helps being able to see it wherever you find a good place for it. Tried it in two cars and it works well (though seemed to fit better on horizontal vents than vertical ones) but mainly in terms of angling the phone as opposed to holding strength.

Excellent product for using as smart phone holder. I use mine mainly as a sat navigation via Google Maps and it is a solid bit of kit. Even when the road surface is a bit bumpy the mount stays still very well and large bumps is barely shifts. It's not fell out of the air vent yet as I drive a VW transporter. As the frame is made from metal it feels durable and gives you a feeling it will last a long time. For the price its decent. Definitely recommend if you're thinking of getting one
