I am looking for the best 4k projector for under 2k to watch movies and TV shows. I narrowed down my options to the HT3350 and this TK850. I purchased the HT3550. Although it was an excellent projector , it generated so much heat and made a whole lot of noise so I decided to give the TK850 a shot. Right out of the box it was pretty much identical to the ht3550 and the same user interface and menu options. However, my frustrations began with my Fire stick. On first boot, it displays a pitch white display with barely dependable images of my fire stick content. I assumed it was just a glitch. 3 days after and multiple uses after it does that everytime on first boot and I have to go and power cycle my fire stick. I am certain it is nothing to do with my firestick as I just took down the ht3550 and installed the tk850 right after and I never had any of that issue in my 2kws. This messes with my Logitech Harmony activities as I have go and fiddle with the fire stick taking away from my automated experience. To make matters worse, external speakers doesn't work on this which worked perfectly fine on the HT3550. I tried using optical and ARC but no luck getting it to work.
I am trying to use it in my basement where I can control the light and ambient light. I find the quality lacking compared to the HT3550.
I will definitely be returning this and most likely going for the ht3550 and just suck up the heat and noise if I don't find any better alternative or just maybe I got a bad unit.
