About the Author
If you’d told us three years ago we were going to spend our lives cooking and eating amazing plant-based food we wouldn’t have believed you. We were a couple of mates from Sheffield who ate meat every single week.
Now we’re a couple of vegans who run BOSH!, the biggest plant-based online channel in the world.. Our food creations were viewed by half a billion people in our first year and our most popular recipe videos have been viewed over 50 million times. We never expected to have that kind of success, and it was humbling.
IAN: I was the one to first cut out animal products.
HENRY: I mocked Ian when he went vegan, and asked him where he’d get his protein from. But eventually he won me over. That and the whole argument for saving the world by not eating mass-produced animal products thing.
After cutting out animal products entirely both of us felt fantastic. But we had to re-learn how to cook, and find food when out and about. We also found that the vegan food available in restaurants or in cookbooks was often, frankly, not very good.
We saw an opportunity. Since then, it’s been our life’s mission to show people how to make delicious, plant-based meals. However often they choose to do that.
And now after three years of eating plant-based food, we’ve mastered a new style of cooking, one made popular through a new breed of internet chefs, where novelty and wow-factor presentation is just as important as taste and ease.
With this new style of cooking, we’ve created all-plant versions of classic dishes that are free from meat, eggs and dairy but still totally scrumptious. You know your favourite dishes, the ones you’ve learned by heart and use again and again? Well these are your new go-to classics.
Everything we do is aimed at showing just how easy it is to eat more plants. We also want to prove just how delicious, hearty and satisfying plant-based food can be.
We cook, drink and film delicious recipes for the world, all from our home studio in East London.
BOSH!

However, it was annoying to find out the burger patty recipe was only given/listed in the first BOSH! book, it would've been so much easier to find it in the same book.
Otherwise, I absolutely have enjoyed and loved all the delicious recipes I have used already!

As I get older - just turned 50 (ahem!) I'm definitely moving towards a more vegetarian/vegan-ish diet. . . . and to be honest I feel a million times better for it! One example is that I havent had bacon or sausage for over 12 months, that alone has done me a world of good! I now tend to look at and choose veggie options at restaurants and functions if I fancy the look of them!
The book . . .
Never used any of the recipes by Henry and Ian so this is my first dip into any of their Bosh stuff.
From the get go I've gotta say that I love it! As somebody who's been growing their own veg for 30 years this book appeals to me big time.
Well written, clear and concise and easy to follow. Great photographs too! Some of the recipes are a bit fiddly but easily doable!
What have I tried in the week I've had it? From the 'Feast' chapter the Classic Lasagne had to be my first! Coming from an Italian background it had to be done and I'm glad this was my first meal from the book. Delicious! I made my own pasta for this (dead easy!) and I found it to be comforting, filling and very tasty!
Next was Broccauliflower Cheese from the 'Quick' chapter. Two veggies I do grow in my Liverpool garden! Super easy to make and a good kick off the jalepenos! Filling yet light in the stomach. I actually ate this 30 mins before cycling 9 miles to work and felt okay. No belly swishing around like a barrel of water!
The eye opener for me here was the 'Classic Chocolate Ice Cream' from the 'Desserts' section. I have a basic twenty quid ice cream machine and make my own ice cream but this was my first veggie ice cream effort and I was very pleasantly surprised! You don't need a machine - a whisk - a freezer proof tub and of course . . . a freezer! There's also a clean slare vanilla recipe that you can of course add your own flavour to! I make a caramelised burnt orange ice cream which I will try to incorporate into this version here!
All three recipes above - absolute winners for me!

The first thing I checked out in this new book was the burger recipes. They say “plant based burger patties or The Big BOSH Burgers from our first book, BOSH!”. So, unless I can find that recipe online it seems I’ll have to buy the other book.
I just hope there are not many recipes that refer to the previous book.
