Some time ago I upgraded my computer (case and all) and when I did I left the DVD drives out (I knew how to put them in the new console). Before I got any of it I have the case upgraded for free (woohoo) BUT it had no spots for a CD/DVD drive.

I Tried 3 other portable drives before this one. 2 (both the same drive) work 75% of the time and the otehr just failed to work.

The BlueFire External DVD Drive works 100% of the time. It loads the DVD, plays till I stop it and keeps connected when I'm not using it. Its the External DVD player I needed from the start. Was easy to plug in and is easy to use.

Got the product today. My mum wanted one for her laptop to sync cds to her laptop and it was easy to use just plug in, insert disk and away you go no hassle either and it works well. And the price is decent for the product as well, Haven't tried DVDs yet but know that cds work.

Was really disappointed in this item. I bought it and misplace it so when I finally found it 12 months later, I was annoyed to find that it kept asking me to download a program in order to use it. I was expecting to be able to plug it into my laptop, pop a DVD in and start watching. That was not possible. Am not using it.

So far works as expected, thanks. - This was my credit without fully testing the device, I gave the benefit of the doubt and only used it 6 months ago to play CDs and DVDs for about two days. This device does not look as is on the picture, it's missing the front label completely. I received a fake device advertised as CD/DVD R/RW, it's a simple DVD reader. Do not buy this!
I was "lucky enough" to have Asurion plan on this one, and I just got my money back. I recommend y'all to fully test all functions before you ran out of Amazon return eligibility period. I made a mistake not doing it.

Despite multiple attempts, I was unable to get the external CD/DVD drive to recognize media. I contacted Amazon product support, and they were a great help. They walked me through installation/setup & diagnostic efforts, finally determining the product was defective & providing a link & guidance how to seek resolution from the manufacturer/vendor. They have also scheduled a follow up call with me to ensure the vendor is handling the matter.
While the product didn't work, Amazon's product support did. I am confident this will be successfully resolved by Amazon.
FOLLOW UP: The vendor promptly sent a replacement for the defective item, which installed easily and works as expected. Original problem resolved with a combination of Amazon & Vendor support!

The 2yo laptop I had died. Ordered another from Amazon. This one had a DVD player but it would not play. Bought another laptop thit time a Dell. This one did not have a DVD player. Bought a portable DVD drive, but could not find a driver that worked. Bought a Bluray portable DVD player, and same problem with a driver. Then bought this BlueFire portable DVD. Thankfully this one has plug and play and found a free driver online. Plus the driver will play any media (Bluray and standard). I feel these problems are all due to Useless Microsoft Win 10.
