I bought this to use with audio books and thought I finally found a player with blue tooth that would work as good as the Sony Mp3 players that I have to replace yearly because of the ear phone jack not being durable under work conditions. The Mibao looked to be very good quality and had blue tooth .I use these players for audio books only and this player would randomly shuffle the audio books, even though the sd card showed all in order,I tried imputing one chapter at a time to player with out sd card, I tried imputing direct to sd card, nothing work It would shuffle some books not all randomly. Too bad it was a good player for the price.
Using a cable, this unit does not shake hands with my computer despite using every combination of on/off I can think of. However, it does have a micro USB port and I have an abundance of those cards, and it is not any more work for me to use a card than it is to use the player's internal memory. Outside of that, the sound and battery life are good. What I like best about this unit is its interface, which is much better to navigate than the other bluetooth players I've had.
Honestly, the MP3 player in and of itself seems pretty fine. It's pretty sturdy, a nice weight, and a great size.
However, this isn't the device for me and that's entirely my fault.
I have a VERY extensive music collection and I want to be able to organise things into preloaded playlists that I can just use to transfer along with an SD card. This MP3 player CANNOT do that, but that's entirely my fault. I didn't look at reviews enough nor questions. I'll be sending it back, but it's not the company's fault.
The Mibao M500 overall is a pretty good MP3 player, the 32 GB storage alone is quite sufficient. The sound of he music files is very impressive, the controls and navigation fairly simple.
The main problem I have with this player is the blue tooth connectivity. The primary purpose for purchasing this player was to use it for running and to able to use with blue tooth earphones while doing so was the big draw. HOWEVER, the connectivity with my earphones was very problematic and was very sporadic even just while walking. There seemed to be no problem with the connection if you happen to keep the player player static and have it sitting nearby for passive listening, but once on the move, the sound kept going in and out and the connections would not remain solid.
I had contemplated returning this, but after an additional test drive (run actually) with wired headphones, I've resolved to keep the player and work around the blue tooth issue. Who knows, maybe Mibao can provide some system update to rectify this, or maybe its just me as I am not sure I saw anyone else mention this.
As a stand alone MP3 player, it rates very high with me as is indicated by a lot of the other reviews you will read. But if you plan to use this for sporting activates with blue tooth headsets, then be warned this may not be the best unit out there.
It has a limit of 3 play lists. But, since the Sony mp3 is not being made any more it's the best of what's left. I ordered a 3rd one, planning to use each mp3 for a different kind of music, ie recent pop, old rock, alternative bedtime. Any way, I loaded on what I wanted, went to use it and it wouldn't turn one. I tried charging it, although I was pretty sure it should still be charged, but it didn't do any good. I'm returning it. And will get one of the other 16 gb ones.
32 GBs is good. The usb cable is short and a type "c". The manual writer is a bit shaky on English, but fun to figure out the meaning. The sound quality is better than a Sansa. The radio is good. I wish I could make the fonts larger and the brightness dimmer because I listen to music at night and the display is really too bright for these old eyes. All in all though I think it is a good deal.
I won't rate this any higher than a 3/5 stars because I am actually finding that I have to return it, and haven't used it long enough to justifiably say that it is a 5 star product.
I am returning it primarily because it turns out that this little device has a built-in microphone. I saw that it had audio recording capability, but I assumed that was with a microphone plugged into the headphone jack. Turns out that is not the case: the internal microphone can record audio with nothing plugged into the device at all! While this may be an appealing element of this MP3 player for some buyers, it is actually a deal breaker for me.
Though I like the quality of the product overall, The Bluetooth was sketchy at best.
I waited until I tried all possibilities to give this the benefit of doubt. I bought a Bluetooth speaker that had a high rating. Not just the one I purchased, but their whole product line has far better than average reviews. I made sure that both devices were fully charged. That didn't help. I tried keeping both devices connected to power. That didn't help either. As I was trying this I tried having both devices close together. No.
In all efforts, it would sound fine for the first 15 - 20 minuets. Then the sound would start cutting out as if it was a poor wired connection.
Finally I paired my phone to the speaker to absolutely decide if it was the speaker or this device. It sounded fine for hours.
I'm keeping the device. As I said; I like the overall quality of the product. It serves my needs fine as I prefer wired devices and is my usual mode of connection.
I think I'm one of the few people left on the planet that doesn't have a cell phone, so I've been searching for an MP3 player to have on me for music. I'd never heard of this company so I was a little wary but the reviews were good and for a reason! This thing is so awesome. Bluetooth capable, FM radio and it has so much space. My husband tried mine out and now he's thinking about buying one for himself.
Update 9/5/20: So This is actually my second version of this product, as the first was defective. Well... now this one seems to be too. Don't buy this product.
Buttons feel cheap and keep triggering, the screen scratches easily and menu is annoying. Wish that the volume up/down buttons would work to change song in screen off mode. However the sound quality is good. Had almost no issues reading the card I put in.
