It should avoid the need to have to keep plugging and unplugging the power cable into the speaker charging point at the side and long term wear and damage.
Trouble is there is a problem in the design.
The really is making my opinion low is the power cable is stiff and any slight movement or vibration imakes the connection plug pull out of the connection point under the charger base and there is no way I can stop this happening. There is no retaining clamp
Or grip to stop it pulling out.
It is very annoying
2- The position of the plug on the plate make it 'unplugged'
3- you Revolve never charged
4- It is easier to directly plug the revolve than use the plate
