Got this for my son when he was 1.5 years old. He loved it and it became part of our nap and night time routine. He would request this every time just before he sleeps.
Simple and easy tor little ones to understand. Although my 4 year old can memorise it very quickly and easily.

Product description
Review
Carle's books all have an educational element – they teach about animals, numbers, colours and nature – but a big part of their appeal is that they are not didactic or laboured, but light and entertaining. There's warmth and humour there too ― Junior
Carle's richly hued, collage-like art and gentle text will be comfortingly familiar to his numerous young devotees ― Publishers Weekly
Eric Carle . . . has an unfailing magic. His gentle, glowing collages are satisfying for parent and child ― The Times

The two year old who now has this was instantly engaged by this colourful and accessible book. And she still reaches for it repeatedly. A huge success, highly recommended.

They make excellent choice for children under age 2.
My toddler loves this book, if it gets picked up by her we end up reading many a times.
The constant repitition makes it more rhythmic for the young ears.
Very small children enjoy repitition in everything be it any kind of work..they would want to do it again n again and
Brown 🐻 bear, uses repitition in every page.
"Brown bear,
Brown bear,
What do you see?
I see a red bird
Looking at me.
Red bird
Red bird
What do you see?
I see a yellow duck
Looking at me
So this goes on
Each two pages has one big bold colourful artwork of animals.
Introduction to some animals and birds and some colours.

Best book for 2-3yr olds.

Lovely quality book. Rigid card pages but a soft padding on the front cover. Beautiful bright coloured pictures. Clear large print text inside. My 2year old loves the story so much and sits there reciting it pretending that she's reading to us. One of the best things I've ever bought my little girl and she has every book and toy under the sun!

A classic! I read this to my children a generation ago and now it’s available in a board version for my little granddaughter. The rhythmic pattern of this book, and its mention of various animals and colours, is ideal for pre-speakers and tight through to early readers

I have a copy of this already for my 1 year old and purchased this for his 1 year old friends birthday - I obviously didn’t read the small print because this is paper back and I wanted board book and also a couple of the pages are different so it must be a different edition!
