"A much needed primer on consent for kids and their adults...The text is straightforward but impactful... The cartoon art is set against pastel backgrounds, further adding to the unintimidating tone. Discussion questions conclude this necessary work." -- School Library Journal "https://www.slj.com/"
"Morrison provides a valuable service for children and their parents in her tale by showing how consent works and what good boundaries look like. The advice falls in line with today's parenting experts, who recommend that kids not be forced into unwanted touching; the volume also includes worthwhile discussion questions." -- Kirkus Reviews "https://www.kirkusreviews.com"

I didn't love the illustrations, they're nothing special. However, my 20 month old toddler LOVES this book. She requests it every day. Ever since we started reading it she lectures the family that they're not allowed to touch her - "No touching! No kiss! Kiss dad!"

Consent is a really important message for children and I was keen to find a book to help me teach them that they, and they alone, decide what happens to their bodies, and that it's OK to say "no" to being touched. I bought the book for that reason, for which it was perfect, but as an extra bonus I found that it smashed all sorts of other stereotypes too - it has a same sex couple, different skin tones and a character in a wheelchair! So great to see such diversity in a kids book just as part of the story. I'd recommend this book for age 0 - 6.
Good photos, clear. I wish it included more about consent between kids. For instance, not always hugging your friends if they don't want it or asking first. But still a great book and good to start early!
