When should you eat CLIF Bars?For best results, CLIF Bars should be eaten about one to three hours before activity along with water to prevent hunger and supply energy to working muscles. During prolonged, lower intensity activity such as hiking or bike touring, CLIF Bars can be eaten during the activity to help satiate hunger and meet carbohydrate demands. CLIF Bars can also be eaten after exercise, as a snack between meals or during a long, busy day to help supplement energy and nutrients as required. |
The CLIF Bar & Company Story
CLIF Bar was born on an outdoor adventure. In 1990, CLIF founder Gary Erickson embarked on an epic 281km bike ride in California. Exhausted, many kilometres from the finish line and struggling to consume another sticky energy bar, the inspiration for the CLIF Bar was ignited. A baker by trade, competitive athlete and a foodie, Gary spent months in his Mum’s kitchen perfecting a recipe for a nutritious, great tasting energy bar. Using organic, whole ingredients, he created CLIF Bar, an energy bar that supplies working muscles with the energy needed for extended periods of activity. CLIF Bar launched in 1992, named after his father Clifford, who inspired Gary’s love of the outdoors.
