Julia lives in the UK with her husband Malcolm and divides her time between Sussex in the South and Edinburgh in Scotland. From 2011 to 2013, she was the UK Children's Laureate. Julia writes fiction, poems, plays and songs, as well as picture books. The TV films of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom have both been nominated for Oscars.
Garry Parsons is an award-winning illustrator of books for children including the best-selling picture book The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter. Garry's illustrations have accompanied the words of many prestigious picture book authors including Kes Gray, Ian Whybrow and Peter Bently. Garry has also illustrated the popular fiction series The Dragonsitter by Josh Lacey. Garry lives in London with his young family and and old dog.
