This is Julia Donaldson writing for slightly older children. My seven year old loves these books. She can read them herself and she finds them really funny. I was looking forward to giving her this for Christmas, BUT, one of the two stories is not new - she has already read it in 'The Princess Mirror-Belle Collection'. This Christmas book includes 'Swan Lake', which is (I hope!) a new story, but the second story is 'The Sleep Walking Beauty' which she has already read in the Collection (see

) and is included in 'Princess Mirror-Belle and the Flying Horse' (see

).
Such a shame - they are great books and the writing is fantastic but the publisher is letting the author and customers down by publishing old material as if it is new. They admit as much at the front of the book, but not in any of the publicity material. I paid £5.29, which is a lot to pay for a book I already half own. Very disappointed.
