To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I found this rather disappointing. Having read the story 'The Catcher in the Rye' I wanted to find out more about it's symbolism and themes, so bought this. Unfortunately, it gave me few new insights, so I will now have to look elsewhere for the details I'm looking for.
good summaries of chapters followed by less in-depth analyses. in fact, the analysis sections develop simply into more summary with brief and infrequent references to symbolism etc. disappointing after having seen the excellent work cliff notes did with romeo and juliet.
3.0 out of 5 starsI thought this was the book with cliffnotes, don't make my mistake

Ordering the actual book now. Sucks that this guide cost as much as the actual book. I'm definitely to blame for some of this. I lowered score for how expensive this is along with quality of the notes.
