Dissapointing

I found this rather disappointing. Having read the story 'The Catcher in the Rye' I wanted to find out more about it's symbolism and themes, so bought this. Unfortunately, it gave me few new insights, so I will now have to look elsewhere for the details I'm looking for.

Excellent for young students

These notes on Salinger and Catcher in the Rye are very basic, but extremely useful. He has 'caught' the atmosphere of the period very well.

good summaries of chapters followed by less in-depth analyses. in fact, the analysis sections develop simply into more summary with brief and infrequent references to symbolism etc. disappointing after having seen the excellent work cliff notes did with romeo and juliet.

Disappointing.

Limited in scope. Too much on content, not enough on style, technique. Of little value to any discerning student. Okay ?

I thought this was the book with cliffnotes, don't make my mistake

Ordering the actual book now. Sucks that this guide cost as much as the actual book. I'm definitely to blame for some of this. I lowered score for how expensive this is along with quality of the notes.
