This sonically spectacular disc features three of Aaron Copland's most beloved Americana scores. Drawing on American folk themes, Rodeo and Appalachian Spring originated as ballet music, but they have found a larger life as light classic staples. They are briskly conducted by Louis Lane and played with lan by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

After I bought this CD, I discovered another nice recording [Copland: Vocal and Orchestral Works, also available from Amazon] which is a 2CD box set and contains many more tracks for only a little extra money, so much better value overall.
A side note. My first cd arrived via Amazon from Bridge_Media. The cd itself had a a black background silk screen label, and would not play on my Oppo 83se Universal Player. It did play on my Sony player. As my Oppo is in my full range system, I replaced the copy with another from eroush 8. This copy had black silkscreen lettering on the cd as opposed to the previous cd’s black background with silver text. The silver eroush8 version worked fine in both players. All the info both in case notes and on the cds were the same. What this means, if anything...I don’t know, but I thought worth mentioning. Neither copy came with security tape.
