5.0 out of 5 stars 31 beautiful designs to get you in the right mood for Spring
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 February 2017
I’m a fan of Creative Haven colouring books, but because I know it’s an imprint of Dover Publications and the company is based in the USA, I was wondering, if the Spring Scenes would appeal to me.
Don’t get me wrong, there are many beautiful places in America to visit and to see and it sure is fun to find all this lovely locations as motifs on the pages of a colouring book, but I was hoping for Spring Scenes with a more international flair.

Luckily, that’s exactly what I got and I’m very happy with the variety of Teresa Goodridge’s lovely designs.

Sure enough, there are the “all American” pages, showing Manhattan or the Capitol in early spring, but there’s also Venice (probably my favourite design) and there’s a Dutch windmill or a table for two outside a café, which looks like the lovely ones in Paris.
There are April showers with lots of umbrellas, parks with benches, greenhouses with tulips, garden birds, the Easter bunny and so much more.

I love, that there are full page landscape sceneries as well as pages with a variety of small items to colour (wellies, watering cans, Easter eggs, etc.).
I also enjoyed to see, the motifs offer various difficulties, some are more easy and straightforward (gorgeous spring flowers, bird houses), others (children playing with kites in the sunshine or people walking their dogs along the river) are more challenging with more intricate areas to work on.
I will try and upload a few photos with my review, to give you a better idea.

The colouring book contains a total of 31 beautiful designs, all printed on one side of the page and all pages are perforated.
That way, you can easily remove the pages, if you want to frame them.

The paper is of medium thickness and I would recommend to put something (paper, cardboard) underneath the page you are working on to avoid bleed through. Personally, I prefer to separate the pages from the book and to place them on a clipboard.

Overall, I found the colouring book of good quality and it offers with 31 different designs a lovely variety of motifs to get you in the right mood for Springtime.

É um desenho por folha, um papel mais grossinho, e dá pra destacar para emoldurar. Adorei!

5.0 out of 5 stars Varied selection of Spring theme pages, lots of tulips

Spring is my favourite time of the year so buying the spring scenes book was an obvious choice from the range of other similar Creative Haven Scenes books to colour. All the pages are bursting with scenes of spring and the pages are all very different from one another but all as lovely as the next. They are printed on the right hand side of the book with the left hand side blank. This is a good thing because then you do not destroy the picture behind if you use alcohol ink pens and get bleeding on the reverse. This is not an issue if you use colouring pencils. It is probably best to put a piece of cardboard behind the image anyway just to make sure. The printing is black on white paper and the pages are perforated so it is easy to remove them from the book without tearing.

Some of the themes you can expect to see in this book are picnic, river, farm, cottage, shop, birds, spring collage, kites, umbrellas, cyclists, pond, New York, Washington, Ball game and more. There is a USA theme to the book as well as a lot of tulips. There are 31 illustrations in total to colour.

I have added a photograph and will add more when I finish colouring the others. I think this is a lovely book and would appeal to most people.

Mostly really nice drawings (the baseball 1 is very odd and now a backing sheet). Got a nice surprise to see some collages with decorated "spring" in the middle which inspired a lot of colour and faded the cold blues. Hung 2 of those in different rooms, as we waited so long for spring to happen. The rain theme, with the April shower saying, was also hung up as inspiration. I was hoping to see similar in the summer 1, but unfortunately not.
