What I just read has got to be the best book I have read in, I don't know how many years it has been, I was consumed by it from the first, the last word, it is an articulate, intelligent no BS beautifully written masterpiece, congratulations, I can't say enough about how good this was. This is the first time I've read anything of Huntington's and I'm blown away what made it even better was that there are no cliche's or regular sayings, everything she wrote was fresh which made it even more immersible if that's even a word or in the right context. I would say I wished that Leah and Jonah got their own story or an extension of this one (novella perhaps) a hot biker who loved with his heart and soul and not with thinly veiled beauty of society. YOU have to read this book - PURE BRILLIANCE!

So difficult to review this just now as I know I’ll be digesting this story for some time. For me the hero of this story is Kellan. I just fell in love with him and he not only brings the characters of this story together he eventually unites them and heals their souls.

The characters in this story aren’t perfect and I know that’s why I love them so much and while they eventually get their various happily ever afters they’re far from perfect and that’s okay. They’re just trying to live their best life in this crazy world which is all any of us can do.

For a long read the story moves at a good pace, it didn’t drag and it’s not angsty, there’s definitely a push and pull between some characters but that’s necessary for the characters development. It’s raw and woven around real life situations which I can identify with. It’s slow burn but it needed to be or it wouldn’t have fit the characters or the storyline.

This was mainly a listen and Jacob Morgan, Ava Erickson and Sebastian York brought Kellan, Charlie and Tate to life.

There’s sooo much to love about this book, from its beautifully written and heartbreaking storyline to the raw and gut wrenching emotions you will undoubtedly experience whilst reading this book. Make sure you have a box of tissues nearby because I ugly cried throughout this book. My heart shattered for these characters and highlighted the ripple effect that one person’s actions can have on the lives of the people they love.

This book is definitely going to be one I will remember for a very long time. Massive literary praises to author Parker Huntington for penning this extraordinary book!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Kellan brought together two broken souls with Charlie and Tate. Both ridden with guilt and self loathing, over the death of their loved ones.

This book is all about forgiveness, for oneself and others. People can change and open themselves up to love.

Definitely a book for the ages and one I won't be forgetting any time soon, absolutely loved it!

I had expected the typical mindless teenage angst story peppered with a few pretty words but what I got was a raw, ugly, beautiful view of life for those left behind after a suicide. Grief, pain, punishment, fear, absolution, longing, understanding. It gripped me tight and dug its claws in deep right to the very last word. It ran the gauntlet of emotions and never seemed to loose focus. This book is very rare find not to be missed.

I feel so much grief, I have ugly cried throughout the pages right alongside Charlie/Charlotte/lottie. Why Kellen, why?

This story is dark and oh so gut wrenching. When two souls cannot see their way out of the darkness. One survived, while the other succumbed to the demons within.

This book is a tale of loss, grief, and a long, long path towards recovery. This book is long, yet I need more. I could continue reading about Charlie and tate forever.

I found Darling Venom when I was bored, looking for something new to read, and it has thrust itself into my top 5 books read this year. Fantastic book, 5 huge stars.

Darling Venom is crazy good!! I’m kinda mad at myself for not reading it sooner, however, I’m glad I waited until after Christmas to start. This whole story is so gut wrenching, but the beginning was really hard to get through.

I literally loved all of the characters, their progress and humour. The only reason I’m giving 4/5 stars is because I wish Tate figured himself out sooner. There was a lot in the middle of him umming and ahhing. I got a bit frustrated with him. Otherwise, the storyline was great, the characters were brilliant and as usual, Parker smashed it!

I absolutely loved this book. The Sad unfortunate tale Of Charlotte losing her parents in a fire, her sister ignoring her existence, and then when she decides enough is enough she meets Kellan. A Pact is made that every year on Her birthday they will meet and check in on each other. Until one year she is late. Fast forward 4 years she stumbles across his older half brother, and things between them are not easy.

This is an absolutely brilliant enemies to lover, best friends older brother, age gap story. It's got it all and it deserves so much more that 5 stars! Marvellous 👏

Very long book and slow/repetitive in places. Could have been shorter with lots of scenes cut.
You will like the story of Charlie & Tate if you like books with more darkness /angst and emotional depth. They are each trying to discover more about Kellan and why he ended his life.
I liked the sub plot about the difficulties between Charlie and her sister (Leah) and Leah & Jonah. In fact that would make a good book.
As a healthcare professional I did not like the unethical situation of Charlie becoming a patient of Tate. The whole situation was cringeworthy! Do they not have chaperones in the US? In the UK there is no way a male doctor would conduct an intimate examination on a female without a chaperone! Also the way in which Tate first met Charlie was also unrealistic, unprofessional and not in keeping with Tate's usual behaviour.
And what is the obsession in romance books with the female characters being virgins?
Would try shorter books by the same author.

It has five main characters in it but it is really about Venom. Brilliant book.
