There were six lead characters in this book. The author wrote in the first person from each point of view, as well as the last chapter in the voice of a character who had been previously mentioned. There wasn’t too much overlap in the action, just enough to assure the reader that they were all talking about the same events. It was smoothly written and flowed easily. There was only one minor misuse of a word, no disjointed sentences, repetitive phrases or awkward phrasing. In sum, it was a pleasure to read. Well done!
So I know that some readers did not like that there were six different viewpoints in this book, but I loved it! Each character gives us different insight into what is going on and the plot line is flawlessly navigated and not confusing at all. And I still felt like we see Amalia and Rhys plenty in this book. By the end we know exactly what happened in the kingdoms long ago and the real villain is unmasked.
As usual, that went way too fast! I was torn between rushing through it to find out what happens, and taking my time so I could have something to look forward to reading. This series is good and keeps getting better. I love the new twists and additions. I felt like there was a LOT of new, which usually bothers me, but Shari is moving everything and everyone along at a fast pace and with the new introductions you get to enjoy closure along with the thrill of new “what will happens”. And ooooo the new ones are good :)
