To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Nearly a year ago I 'discovered' this author and he has been on follow ever since. In one of my previous reviews I said that I was going to display my ignorance at the beginning. I recognized his name but was not familiar with his writing(s). So, now I have read most of his offerings and have been struck by his knowledge, the manner in which the facts are presented and also his grasp of America.
This particular book covers Unionists and Disintegrationists...The author takes the reader through the elements of each one and this is done clearly and concisely. And, as the title states the steps are listed as to how America may be destroyed.
Diverse topics are included and some of those are: Capitalism, strategy of Disintegrationists, identity politics, Electoral College, Hollywood, Charities, and more. Destruction is one of thee main ideas associated with their strategy. The American flag is near and dear to my heart as I am a USN Chief Petty Officer, Retired, and the idea of that being an inherent divisive symbol really irritated me. A symbol of unity for me...red, white and blue.
A couple of quotes I found most interesting followa and this one applies to the strategy : 'Any evidence of disparity becomes an argument' How many times have we heard (or seen this) in recent months? And, President Lincoln said it right in his Inaugural Address: 'We are not enemies, but friends'.
The statistics from the Axios poll in November 2018 illustrated the great divide we are in today. Political polarization is reflected in all of these poll numbers.
A most thought provoking and insightful look that is presented clearly, concisely and has footnotes at the end of the text.
A must read in this time of cultural turbulence. Shapiro identifies the roots of out theological, cultural, and political divides then brilliantly lays out proposal for unification with an overabundant love of nation and neighbor. Top tier political philosophy with a cavalcade of sourced facts to back every point.
