Diala Canelo is the recipe creator and writer of Diala's Kitchen, a food and travel blog where she shares recipes inspired by her trips around the world. She grew up near the sea in Dominican Republic, and later moved to Canada where she fell in love with all things cooking and baking. She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Mexico City, where she obtained a Grand Diploma in pastry and bread making. Her diverse travel experience as a flight attendant have given her the chance to taste food from many different cultures and share her gorgeous photography. With her first book, she wants to inspire readers to discover some of these city through the vibrant recipes in the cookbook. Diala lives near Toronto with her daughters Isabella and Gabriela, her partner, Warren and their pets Oliver and Blue.

This is a beautiful cookbook and every recipe my wife and I have made so far has been an absolute home run. Diala has achieved something really special with this book. The recipes elevate pretty common ingredients into very memorable dishes. The travel theme helps with this, but she does it in a way where each recipe is very easy to follow (you're not hunting through the book to make x, y and z before you get started) and most of the recipes are pretty healthy. Most importantly they taste delicious (and they make nice pictures!)

Highly recommend this one!

I’ve followed Diala’s Kitchen on Instagram for years, and been pleasantly surprised by both the simplicity of each of her recipes and the complexity of flavours of each dish. Diala shares her tried and true family favourites with elevated flair. This cookbook is a work of art: each recipe showcases creative, bold, mouthwatering delights that have been painstakingly curated. I feel blessed to finally have my own copy!
