2.0 out of 5 stars Comparison between Kodak and Wolverine Titan unit
Reviewed in the United States on 30 October 2018
I bought the Kodak Scanza on the idea I will get a better quality images from my Slides and Negatives compared to the Wolverine Titan I have. My evaluation as follows:

1) To my surprise, the unit is not actually made by Kodak. It is just branded as Kodak as mentioned in the manual page 35: “ Kodak does NOT manufacture this product or provide warranty or support. Authorized KODAK Brand Licensee, C&A Marketing, Inc.”. Therefore, this product was not designed or made by Kodak, it just branded as Kodak!

2) It is advertised as 22 Megapixels machine. However, it actually has a 14 Megapixels sensor and it is software enlarged or interpolated to 22MP. Page 31 of the manual states “ Sensor 14MP CMOS, resolution 14MP/22MP interpolated”.

3) Display screen small compared to the Wolverine. Kodak screen is 3.5” while the Wolverine is 4.3” with much sharper display. Check side-by-side image.

4) Screen Menu fonts is very small and not user friendly.

5) Operating buttons are located on the screen. Every time you press a button the machine will tilt. You need two hands to scan, one to hold the machine and the other to push the buttons!

6) Now we come to the output files. The Kodak produce very bluish tint and faded images. Check the images shown of the Kodak and the Wolverine.

In conclusion I thought I was getting a better machine than the Wolverine but it is not the case. I am going to stick to my trusted Wolverine Titan unit. I’ve seen the Wolverine machines on the market for more than 10 years and they have a better designed product.
