Six stars or more actually! If you like Neil, especialy his stuff from from throughout the 70's THEN THIS IS A MUST HAVE! A fantastic live recording (even if it has the missing parts that TomP alludes to). As good as it gets for Neil live!!! One, repeat one, of his best albums ever actually, certainly his best live. His voice is still in its prime, and the Horse are all stallions here! You just don't know what your missing if you don't buy it. Snooze you loose.
Don't listen to Doctor Dr. X , this person doesn't know what he's talking about , first of all A Horse With No Name isn't a Neil Young song , it's by America, if he was a genuine fan of Neil Young he would know that a Crazy Horse live album is always going to be electric, rocking music, , this is perhaps the best live album Neil Young has ever released, stunning versions of many classic songs
Having been disappointed by most of NY's releases over the last 2 or 3 decades, I reluctantly gave this a try. It's wonderful - the ultimate Young electric live album. Although 50% of the songs are the same as Weld, the sound quality is better. In particular the two guitars are well separated (unlike the 'one huge guitar' sound that Young liked). Not a bad track - even the ridiculous T-Bone somehow fits in. Love it.
I think I own or have heard all of Neil’s many live albums, and this new release of a Ragged Glory era gig in a small club is probably now my favourite. Crazy Horse and Neil both sound fantastic, and the set list contains plenty of seldom played songs which it’s a delight to hear. Love it.
I have always loved Neil electric and this concert was basically a pre tour gig before the Weld tour. IMO its better than Weld and is a must for Neil Young fans. As a benefit of buying the double CD on Amazon I also get the digital download. Great live stoner rock album!!
