About Dr. Rachel Pauls
Rachel Pauls, MD, FACOG is a world-renowned pelvic reconstructive surgeon, educator and researcher, as well as passionate chef and food blogger. She follows a modified low-FODMAP diet to successfully treat her own IBS symptoms.
Dr. Pauls completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada, and Board Certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Pauls has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters, and serves as the Program Director for the Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at TriHealth, as well as the Director of Research for the Division of Urogynecology. She has served as an Associate Editor and/or Peer Reviewer for over 15 academic publications.
In 2016, Dr. Pauls founded 'Rachel Pauls Food', an online low-FODMAP food company and resource for those suffering with IBS and digestive issues. Her products include certified low-FODMAP energy bars (“Happy Bars”), beef jerky, spice blends, soup bases and baking mixes. Her website (www.rachelpaulsfood.com) has over 350 free low-FODMAP recipes, and the downloadable highly regarded low-FODMAP ‘Happy Gut Guide’ PDF. Dr. Pauls’ recipes are beloved by thousands all over the world, and her website has over 1,000,000 unique visitors per year.
