What a strong and stellar sequel to the first book. Oh my goodness. . . So many god damn feels with this book.
Tate delivers yet another amazing book. She has now become one of my favourite authors of all time. I love her writing style, the carefree use of swear words, the world building and character development. I love how you are taken on a journey that has enough action, character growth, sexy times (and are they steamy or what!!) and quiet moments without being boring. All the while giving us a realism within the supernatural world she has created.
Here we have Kit and the guys steel reeling from the events from the previous book, and just when you didn't think you would be hit with some action. BAM! Within the first chapter, Kit is taken and handed in for. . . . I don't know if I should give this part away. Well, anyway, she is taken and is then rescued in a sense by a very handsome and incredibly sexy Dragomir, or Vali. I loved how her time away from her men didn't drag on and she was able to meet back up with them rather quickly. I really hope we get to see Kit and Vali's relationship grow and become something other than, "oh I have the hots for you but I shouldn't because you a psycho" hahaha. Cause I want sexy time scenes with them two.
I didn't think I could love anyone as much as River, but holy hells bells, Tate has introduced a new character for me to grab a hold of and never want to let go. Vali is now tied with River and I am sooo glad he turned out to be a good guy. Heart these two sooo much! I absolutely love Kit, she is definitely my kind of character, she is strong, sarcastic, has a truckers mouth and the little bits of vulnerability that peeks through whether she wants it to or not. She is a relatable character.
The guys. . . OOOOH the guys. . . OMG AUSTIN!!!!! Okay, so River, Vali and Austin are my favourites. I absolutely adore them all but they are my top three. . I love seeing Austin's wall starting to fall and he finally shows her some of his softer side. I love seeing this side of Austin, whilst still maintaining his D***ishness - he hasn't become whipped and all mushy and gross.
We are slowly seeing more of Wesley and I think their relationship will be the one I love most. Because he is super sweet and she can talk to him about anything, they have a connection that runs deeper than just plain attraction. Well that's how I see it anyway. . . hehehe. I adore Wes so much and just want to hug him tight soo much, especially when he gets all shy.
There is so much I want to say but can't because it is too much of a spoiler. To those who have yet to read this book you will laugh, get angry and want to punch something, yell out in frustration (yes, I do this), get all hot and bothered and froth at the more intimate scenes, be shocked and become suss with certain characters and certain things about characters will start to make you think and form your own theories.
You will NOT regret reading this book. Tate has done it again and her work is absolutely amazing!
