Very nice looking, but be aware they are never really off and have a slight parasitic draw.

These are nice looking lights and the functionality of both a reading light and night light is interesting, but something to think about is that these are never really off. Since the control is not just a physical switch and include a microchip they draw power when "off". I read 0.01 amps draw in the off position. This isn't much so they may or may not be ok for your application. I bought these for a van conversion and will look for something else for that project. I don't want any parasitic draw from light sources... especially not just for a soft on off multi function switch. I will look for something else with a physical switch.

So I would say between the wife and I we do love this item. Quality of production is very good, feels like something you would find in a new Island Packet or (if it were a car) Mercedes. Light output is OK, bulb is built in. Light dissipates after 8' so long throws are no good but it's not built for that. On the bench they consume .84W per light. On the boat 3 are used as replacement 80's brass reading lamps and an addition work light in the galley. Boat is an 1988 Hunter 30-2 (G Series). Pictures enclosed should help those on the fence. Hopefully these will work long enough in the Caribe without replacement.
