Dylan (Dark Legacy Book 4) Kindle Edition
One of Forbes’ 30 under 30.
One of the most eligible yet unattainable men in the country.
One of the Delta Five.
Together with his friends, Beck, Riley, Jasper and Evan, Dylan runs half the damn world. He is the epitome of power... and the definition of emotional baggage. Too damaged from his shitty upbringing. Too hung up on his best friend's girl. Too cold and guarded to let anyone else into his stratosphere.
So why can't I stay away?
Why can't I end things? He doesn't even know my real name or my real age. If he finds out...
He can't find out. I'll end it. One more night, and I'll end it. Men like Dylan Grant never commit to women like me. I'm too weak, too broken, too tragic.
Just one more night, and I'll walk away. Dylan Grant will never see me again.
Or... that was the plan.

What a read though! Man my heart feels a little raw right now. This had some seriously break-your-heart moments. I got so worked up at a particular spot in the book…and I wasn’t sure if I had the guts to read on…I think some personal experiences wound into that moment and it was breaking my heart. I won’t say anything more on that…because it’ll give this away but just dang. You are breaking my heart!
I’m glad I pushed through though because, in the end, everything worked out how it was meant to. So thank goodness for that! Deep sigh of relief!
I do have to warn you guys though, this isn’t a book I’d recommend to a younger audience. The content of this book is definitely aimed at a mature audience. The language is strong, situations, darker content, was not made for some so please do keep that in mind.
Hmm, what can I say about this book without spoiling anything? We have our dear Dylan, who is one of the Delta 5, one of the most powerful men in the world…who has soo much emotional baggage and has so many walls up, it’s like Fort Knox up in there. Well, until he meets Serena. A girl who slowly and unknowingly is breaking those walls down.
But that’s not her real name. Brooke has her own truckload of emotional baggage and she sees herself as nothing but broken and weak. He can’t find out who she is. But she has to see him one last time before she calls it quits. Because how can a man like Dylan want anything to do with the likes of her? A girl who is barely holding it together but who is also possibly falling hard for this “unattainable” man. She needs to cut ties and let him go.
But clearly, fate had other ideas for them…and both their worlds come crashing together…and say hello to a hella bumpy road ahead. But hang in there because it’ll definitely be worth it!
I really loved being able to read this story. And it was awesome being able to reunite with the whole crew again. If you’ve loved the other books there’s no way that you won’t love this one. I think this was my favourite out of the lot. Especially, since it gives a better glimpse into the new Delta world our crew made possible.
Contemporary isn’t really my genre of choice lol but I still very much enjoyed reading this. It easily pulls you in and has you connecting to the characters. But man did I struggle with some of the bad guys. I was just like kick their butts already please and thank you!! Ugh such evil twisted people. I really wanted to punch a decent amount of people. Lol. Who knew I could be so violent…I totally blame the Delta lot and being in their heads haha. 😆🤷🏻♀️ You gotto admit it does make sense haha.
Guys, you will totally love what Tate and Jaymin have done with this story, so be sure to give it a read!
Happy torturous reading!
I have loved this world since the first book in the Dark Legacy Series and this one just made me want more. It was great being in this world again. I would have loved to see more of the other deltas especially jasper and Evan but I still loved their cameos. It just made me want to dive back into this world, which you can guarantee I’ll be doing after this review.
Brooklyn is the definition of self sabotage. It was tiresome at times but I also enjoyed it, seeing her grow and learn to stand up for herself and find who she really is was great. I loved getting to see deeper into Dylan. For some reason I thought this book was going to be in his POV which I was kinda hoping for but I still loved the book regardless. I liked that there was closure for him in the book also and it was an unanswered question we no doubt all had from the first books.
They were explosive, especially when both were on the defensive and misinterpreting each other because of their horrendous communication but there was no denying their chemistry and the way they were drawn together. It made for an interesting and enthralling read. Both were captivating and I dreaded reaching the epilogue, knowing it was all coming to an end.
This was amazing writing by these awesome authors and I cannot get enough of their books. The plot, the characters progression and growth was all written beautifully and I’m so glad we got to see Dylan get his HEA!

Brooklyn was a great main character. She isn't tough from the get go like Riley is but is someone who develops and grows from all the character development through the book. Now usually I prefer a female character who can stand up for themselves (like Riley for example), but Brooklyn was actually a character whom I felt an immediate emotional connection with. I loved watching her discover who she could truly be and taking those leaps of faith to be someone she could be proud of. Now for Dylan. I loved him in the first three books and always felt for him and wanted more. I think we definitely got that in this book. I don't want to give away any spoilers as I hate reviews that do, so without giving anything of the book away I'll just say about him that we get to see him in a different light and we get to know a lot more about him that just made me fall for him even more than I did before.
Now I did find this book quite emotional and was crying quite regularly, but that might be because I'm pregnant so extra emotional about everything. But saying that, I think if you've read Riley & Becks books then you know everything is not sunshine & butterflies. Life is definitely not a walk in the park for Brooklyn so be prepared for a bit of an emotional rollercoaster on her journey. I easily give this book five stars and I will be going back and reading it again as I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend Dylan, especially if you loved the first 3 Dark Legacy books, however I think you can also read this book without having read the others first.
I fell in love with Dylan originally when reading Riley and Becks story - he was tall, dark, dangerous and fiercely loyal and loving. When I seen this be released I had a major girly scream...
Our FMC in Dylan is so pure, innocent and strong in ways that count that I was instantly taken with her, she was totally different to Riley and I love that she wasn't in the shadow of our original FMC, Brooklyn was her own person, had her own history and fell in love with the Dylan that we all did. Dylan was still the same protective, dangerous guy that I loved how this story flowed from the original three 3.
I would highly recommend reading this book and can't believe I put it off for so long!
Dylan & Brooklyn’s chemistry was 🔥. Dylan is an A hole but Brooklyn grows a backbone and sticks up for herself. The twists and turns made this a book I couldn’t put down at 2am.
The snippets with the rest of the Delta Five was wonderful too and I wish I’d done a re-read before diving into Dylan - not because it was essential, but it’s been a while!
