As sometimes happens with 180 gram repressing, the sound is not as bright as the original. It could have been re-mixed, and if so it would be unforgivable, as the treble notes are muted and the bass is very ponderous. "She's Got Legs" just does not sound as bright as it should.

A nice and solid disc

After travelling around half of Europe (from Spain, to Kent, to Belgium, back to Kent, then St Helens, then Liverpool before being despatched to me), it's amazing this disc (it's new) is in such good condition, with only some light crackle on the first track side one. As the photo of the label shows (and I timed it, just to be sure this wasn't a misprint/error), the version of Legs on this yellow disc is the album version, with the repeating three-note guitar riff.
It was well protected - a standard Amazon LP cardboard sleeve, inside a bigger Amazon box with basic paper padding - and obviously hadn't had any weight on it during its long and convoluted journey around the customs posts of the EU and the UK; well done. Oh, and it arrived four days ahead of schedule as well. I'm a happy bunny.

A great album
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 January 2018Verified Purchase
This is a stellar album from ZZ Top with strong guitar and bass lines and it includes three of the most famous ZZ Top singles; Gimme all your Lovin': Sharp Dressed Man and Legs.
The version of this CD I received does play on my Windows 10 computer although, in common with many older albums, there's no electronic track detail such as titles etc. I couldn't detect any issues with the ending/editing of track 6 (Legs) referred to elsewhere on this review page.
All in all a wonderful album and not just the better known tracks, the bass line of all the other tracks is equally addictive. Recommended.

Faulty pressing - Avoid!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2017Verified Purchase
The track "Legs" ends abruptly, about 1 minute earlier than it should. It's like it was intended to fade out, but no one mastered it fading out.
To be clear, this is a warning about the vinyl edition. I have no knowledge about the other formats

I'm always cautious when buying a CD version of an LP
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 February 2013Verified Purchase
It's so easy to make a mess of remastering. I can imagine that there is a temptation to remaster specifically for a new generation who are used to mp3 compression and listen to nasty representations of something they think sounds good to them on their cell 'phones. However, I'm an old git. I want it to sound as it did originally - raw and bassy to the ears of many. I was pleasantly surprised by this, but it was advertised as having been produced from the analogue masters. Presumably, they were making the distinction because "digitally remastered" versions had been so badly criticised. I think this version is OK, on the assumption that you don't have access to a decent turntable, valve amplifiers, and speakers the size of bedside cabinets that can handle 50W of bass guitar (well that was the reason I bought them in 1979).
