As others have said, this lamp makes an annoying beeping noise. Contacted seller and I was told to turn on the projector’s high-altitude mode. I suspect that advice was designed to drown out the beeping with fan noise. Returned and purchased an authentic ELPLP49 lamp from Epson’s Web site.
Had to return the lamp because it made continuous beeping noise after it warmed up. Replaced with an older lamp and the noise stopped. Repeated the process with the new lamp and the noise returned. After further review, I noticed several other negative reviews for this same problem.
The first try we ordered of this didn't work at all. So we ordered another and it worked but not as well as the original. The picture flashes in and out of brightness and just isn't as good. When this one dies I'll try to find a difference one that is better quality.
This bulb fit perfectly, and had a bright image, but a noticeable beep every few seconds was soooo annoying! Got a factory Epson bulb ( yes it was more but fit perfectly and no noise! B&H photo and video carries factory replacements at a decent price). DO NOT buy this bulb unless you're not using it for home theater or someplace where the noise will be a nuisance.
I ordered this product in March and it is already burned out only 7 months later. I don't use this projector very often, so I would have expected it to last at least one year. While it was still working, there was a bluish tinge along the top of the screen.
Bulb only lasted a little over a year. Shortly after installing, I began to hear this high pitched beep sound. Very faint but drives you crazy. Especially noticeable during quieter portions of a movie.
I replaced the lamp the morning of Thanksgiving (looked great) and when I turned it off a few hours later, I heard a loud pop. The lamp busted inside itself and no longer works. And of course the return date for the lamp has passed, so now I’m out $90 and will have to buy another lamp.. Good luck Amazon peps!
