Very sorry to have purchased this book as I’d assumed the majority of recipes for an air fryer would not only tasty, but also relatively healthy. No so. Many of the protein recipes alone are well over 400-500+ calories (some recipes are even higher) and that’s before you’ve started cooking any vegetables. Very disappointed but also grateful that I only bought the e-reader version. Quantities (cups/temperatures) are US imperial measurement.
This book, and all air fryer books, promise a healthier way of eating. However, aside from the fact that you still use oil on many of these recipes, they include enormous amounts of salt in the recipes. Some "healthy appetizers" are over 1600 mg of salt in a serving (Most people should not have over 2000mg in a whole day!!!) So this little appetizer is nearly a day's worth of salt. NOT HEALTHY. Also, many have huge amounts of carbs and they still have 10-20 grams of fat as well. Do not use this book to find healthy air fryer eating.
This book is very misleading. Got in touch with author, she couldn't explain the difference in temperature between recipe and glossary at end of book. Be CAREFUL if you use recipes, keep an eye on your food and reduce temperature as needed. Not very happy with author making excuses for the deviation in this book.
I ordered this book for myself and also ordered one for my son and daughter-in-law. We are all most disappointed. While the proportions/servings are helpful, too many the recipes rely heavy on store-bought/processed food ingredients. Adding so many high sugar, high fat, high salt, preservative-based ingredients not only diminishes the calorie "savings" by air frying but contributes to caloric and chemical gains by using highly processed ingredients. I'll stick with the America's Test Kitchen version of air-fryer cooking!
RECIPES APPEAR REALLY DELICIOUS, BUT MANY RECIPES ARE LOADED WITH SODIUM. I GOT THE AIR FRYER BECAUSE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HEALTHIER MEALS. I WILL TRY A FEW OF THE HEALTHIER RECIPES, BUT I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE AWARE OF THE NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION BEFORE PURCHASING!!
The recipes were well written and easy to follow. However, I live alone and most recipes are designed to feed 8 to 12 people. It's to difficult for me to cut down the ingredients to just one or two people.
