BETH A. LEE grew up on the East Coast before moving with her family to Northern California, thousands of miles away from the traditional Jewish food she was raised on. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a degree in business and later pursued a marketing career in Silicon Valley.

In 2010, Beth realized she preferred pita chips over computer chips and launched her food blog, OMG! Yummy. Through her blog, she reconnected with her love of cooking and her passion for documenting her family’s multicultural food traditions.

Beth has been featured in the New York Times and the San Jose Mercury News and has been a frequent contributor to Edible Silicon Valley. She also co-leads a popular virtual cooking group, Tasting Jerusalem, focused on Middle Eastern cuisines and ingredients.

Beth is so glad she can make a New York–style bagel in her sunlit kitchen in Northern California.

I’m Greek and love baking. Beth’s original stories along with easy-to-follow instructions make this new style (to me!) baking wonderfully simple to navigate. I first tried the filled Challah buns alternating Beth’s apple mix with my own fillings (figs & feta, raspberry jam & lemon Chèvre). I’ll make these a standard for special mornings from now on! Traditional Jewish baked goods recipes have always been a favorite at friends’ homes. Now I can try them myself while appreciating the true culture behind each one, while using Beth’s solid guidance to make sure they come out right the first time, just like these buns did!

There are so many fabulous recipes that I didn't know where to start. I made the marble loaf cake and it was super to easy to make. Love the swirl of chocolate in this moist cake. The family is gobbling it up and they are begging me to make the challah next. I'm super intimidated with bread recipes, but can't wait to try more. Beth makes it very to easy to follow and understand with her humor and clear directions. This book takes me back to visiting my grandparents and those fabulous Jewish delis we used to frequent!
