For example in top racer the controls just randomly lock out at times and the nitro animation just stays there.
The firmare patch for controller remapping was a lie. It doesn't work.
So why only 2 stars? Unfortunately many of the games suffer from emulation issues. Tinhead has issues with audio and stuttering music as, to a lesser extent, do some of the other titles.
In the most widely reported issue, the RPG Brave Battle Saga is prone to crashing back to the start screen and the other RPG, Canon also has graphical and sound stuttering the farther you progress.
The game Top Racer has a bug that wasn't present in the SNES original where you can never turn off the nitro, completely ruining the flow of the game.
The game Drakkhen also freezes at the end instead of playing the ending.
There is also the issue of poor button mapping something that, in fairness, Evercade has addressed with a firmware update. This was more a result of poor decision making about the design of the console than the games fault.
It's a shame that such an interesting cartridge is plagued by such disappointing quality testing. Evercade is hinting at a second firmware update that will fix many of the issues but this does not justify or explain why this cartridge was released in this initial state to begin with. The issues are glaring and should have been noticed by anyone spending even a small amount of time with it. It is to be hoped that future cartridges are subject to a higher level of quality testing before release.
