Didn't disappoint. Great relationship building, character development works at a good pace, with the story not happening too quickly but there's no excessively dragging it out. Can't wait until the next.
I love all things Frost Kay, and have recently torn through the first two books, just to be able to read this 3rd book in the series. Hazel doesn't always make it easy to love her, especially when others are being kind and caring for her. Just goes to show that prejudices created from birth are hard to get past. Noah is still fighting things that he's starting to realize are impossible to fight, even though everyone else around him has long since noticed the truth. There are twists, surprises, adventure, and some of the most precious, swoon-worthy moments. Noah has come a long way! I can't wait for The Chosen! So glad this wasn't the end for Hazel and Noah!
This book picks up right after book 2. One of my favorite things about this installment is that we get a lot more from Noah's POV and I adored really getting to know him. The beginning of the book is full of emotion and it seems that Hazel is going to continue with her prejudice since her worst nightmare just came true. However, I felt Hazel showed quite a bit of growth in this book. Yes she still battles her prejudice but she's more aware of them and is quick to correct herself and apologize. Not to mention she isn't the only one that has this issue if you will. I love these more realistic character developments - neither Hazel nor Noah just woke up one day and viola all was awesome. They both have grown as individuals and it was so sweet to see them become more than enemies and to learn to love each other.
Overall the story arc keeps moving along. They all have a new enemy to face and this brings in Hazel's biological family into the mix. I would be interested to see how this is going to play out and who the new enemy is. I'm also extremely curious about Hazel's brother Jo. I'm glad that things between Matty and Hazel worked out and Abuela is still one of my fave characters. Looking forward to whatever comes next in this series.
I love the Dominion of Ash series. Frost Kay has some serious talent in creating worlds and I love getting lost in this world. I have loved the previous books in this series, but I think this one is my favorite of them all so far. In the Fallout we get a chance to see some major character development in Hazel and I really love her growth! I love seeing her attitude change from being so hostile to more accepting and appreciative of where she is and where she is headed. And, of course, I love Noah’s perspective and seeing where this book takes him and Hazel. I also loved getting to know some of the other characters better in this book, where in the previous ones I felt like we only scratched the surface. All in all, The Fallout is worth the read and is an excellent addition the this Series! I’m anxious for the next book!
Started this book with trepidation because it is post-apocalyptic and this year has had me wanting to read all sweet and happy fiction because we have enough of the hard stuff in real life...I was pleasantly surprised! The story progressed very nicely with enough "up" moments to balance the difficulty of dystopian life. The character development was satisfying. There was a moment towards the end where an event was skipped over and it took me a moment to catch up with the story, but it's an author's prerogative to scene skip. Looking forward to more of Hazel and Noah's story.
I enjoyed this continuation. I wish there has been more interaction between our two MC, but it's okay. I liked how there wasn't a **magic** moment when they were suddenly in love. I thought the way their emotions played was well done and the fact that they didn't progress at the same rate was both realistic and refreshing. I hope we get to see their relationship developer more in the next book!
Finally! The wait for the next installment of the series is over and it did not disappoint!! I’ve loved this world and its characters since book one, and Noah is becoming my favorite character ever! Kay does a super job of showing the emotions of the characters and tying together the plot. I should have read the story slower- now I’m stuck waiting for the next one again but I know it will be worth it.
I love love love everything Frost Kay writes, but this series has a showboat place in my heart. Noah and Hazel's love story is the perfect blend of sweet and sexy and I can't wait until they're officially mated!
