About the Author
Dr Will Bulsiewicz is an award-winning gastroenterologist and gut health expert. He's a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and was chief medical resident at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and chief gastroenterology fellow at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. I read "Fibre Fuelled "last year and was excited to see Dr. Will was releasing a cook book. I have loads of plant-based and vegan cook books. Some of them I flick through once and never pick up again. Others I return to weekly. I think THIS cook book will join my weekly rotation as I've already ear-marked 4 recipes to make this weekend.
I am lucky enough not to have any sensitivities so we can dip in anywhere. I am particularly happy to see information on fermenting and sprouting as both are things I have dabbled with in the past. Having the benefits explained makes it more likely I'll actually stick with them this time.
Yes, it is an American"cookbook but I think it's a lot more accessible than some. "White" wholewheat flour is just wholewheat in the UK (the USA has Red and White Wholewheat flour, something to do with wheat varieties). Other than grits and hominy (both of which you buy online in the UK) all of the other ingredients are readily available.
Looking forward to getting the pages covered with splashes as I cook.

I heard Dr B on Mayim Bialik’s podcast and immediately went out to buy Fibre Fuelled (the first book). I went plant based ten days later, pre-ordered the cook book and haven’t looked back - my whole family has also joined me. I have so many health issues and whilst, 2.5 weeks in, this isn’t curing those more physiological issues, it’s making me strong, awake and prepared to deal with them which is amazing. Inflammatory responses are reduced and I’ve lost 18 pounds (in 16 days!). I haven’t stuck to the plan perfectly, but have stuck to the principles and will never go back to animal based products. This is just the start. I’m recording our progress on veganrugbymum on the old socials.

This book is absolutely amazing! The information that Dr. B shares with us is so important for everyone to know, whether you suffer from gut issues or not. This way of eating makes you feel incredible, helps you lose weight if you need to and prevents and improves many illnesses. It has all but eradicated my constipation, and also greatly improved my arthritis symptoms. Not only has it got loads of incredible recipes, it is also a mine of information about food intolerances that make many many people miserable on a daily basis and that can be cured just by changing the food they eat. I honestly recommend this book so highly, and of course his first book, Fibre Fuelled. And if you can catch him some time being interviewed you will see how passionate he is about this subject and how this lovely family man has dedicated his career to helping others through his wealth of knowledge. Just amazing.

This book is full of recipies that I actually want to make! I'm a very picky eater and usually struggle to make things out of cookbooks. But I just made my meal plan for next week only using this book and had a hard time deciding what to make. And most recipies use ingredients I already have on hand. I wasn't sure about buying this book because I don't have gut issues but I'm so glad I did!
