His music has been used in hundreds of films and he's composed soundtracks for some of the best-known directors in the world including David Lynch, Danny Boyle and Peter Jackson. However, the very best is left 'til last - the absolutely incredible ‘An Ending (Ascent)’. I'm an old man, but this track almost moves me to tears. So much emotional impact in the four minutes that it seems to have a physical weight to it. Yes, buy this just for the one track!
The CD sounds great (no Loudness Wars), and ships in a Mini LP sleeve with a gatefold. You get an 8-page booklet, and the CD is held in a silver inner bag. I'm stil shocked that an album I thought might be a casual little collection can deliver such a good experience - thank you Mr. Eno.
What would really make 2021 a more attractive prospect for me would be to hear that the professorial one was releasing an album of new songs. It's been 16 years since the wonderful Another Day On Earth and there's plenty of us who love Eno's voice and lyrics. He apparently loves singing too, so what's the problem?
Over to you Brian, time surely to give the old vocal cords a workout.
