Great simple product but arrived in used condition with scuff marks

Pros:
- Simple Idea
- Engages hand-eye coordination
- Great value (although price went up a couple of dollars right before I purchased)
- Well trusted brand

However there is ONE CON. The one I received had scuff marks and a dab of red paint on the white base. I don't know if this wasn't properly manufactured (although being a well known brand I would hardly think you would get a product like this). I suspect it was one that was purchased, had been used and then returned as the box appeared re-taped at the top. I think better care should be taken identifying which returns can be re-sold. Disappointing, but if you do get one in new condition I would rate it a 5 star product.

My baby sister had this (and the Fisher-Price telephone) as a toddler, 50 years ago, and when she wasn't playing with one, she was playing with the other. The "doughnuts" double as teething rings, and can be used to teach children colors, dexterity, relative size (which is bigger, the blue circle or the red one?), coordination, and proportion, and the rocking motion of the base not only fascinates them, but teaches them rudimentary physics.

I too recommend this simple toy; even for a 9-month-old there's plenty to see and do here. The rattle in the top ring is a nice idea. I actually keep this one aside so it doesn't get played with too often, it always gets a good reaction when I bring it out.

This toy was quite flimsy for Fisher Price, at least the Fisher Price toys I rememebr. My toddler was able to pull apart or off the base from the pole and that was the end of it. It did not screw was not secure and in terms of a toy of longevity, I wouldn't bother. It can be used for intended purpose but I'd probably end up paying more to have something that will last.

I wish the donuts wouldn't have a small hole in them so that we could also use it in the bath. It would also make them easier to clean.
