It has long past my return window, so I'm only keeping it around to cut herbs like basil or thyme from our herb garden, because it's not good enough for any other tasks. We later bought a more expensive Fiskars pruner from our local hardware store and it was much better.
You want the clippers to stay closed? Good luck, happening 50% of the time. You want the clippers to stay open as you clip? Good luck, happening the other 50% of the time.
That last gardening session just ended 5 minutes ago. I have an oval red welt on my thumb which contrasts with the previous pinch which is now eggplant purple. The clippers are in the garbage.
Mr. Fiskars would be so disappointed in the quality of these clippers bearing his name, and so should the company who made them. It's a sad day when you can get better clippers at Big Lots than these from "Fiskars".
Traditional pruners were made for hard working mens hands who don't care what they do to them and will be cutting stuff for long hours, if that's you ladies, go w a traditional pruner, I recommend Felco's.
Fiskar, another great name in pruners has though this line, a pruner has a simple lock, just press the big orange circle, no danger to finger nails, wearing out carefully cared for fingers on tiny cold harsh metal levers covered in sap dirt thorns. The handles are big fat and distribute load. The cutters are safely away from fingers. MY WIFE LOVES THEM. They drive me crazy.
